Mitigated Success: The Story of My Life

I didn't get the job, but they gave me a consolation full-time internship that will last a few months.

The weekend before last I went to Canada for Cam and Lindsey's wedding, which was a lot of fun. I like my suit, perhaps one day I'll be able to afford more than one.

This weekend our ping-pong room got invaded by a swarm of bees. My theory is that the queen is in the wall, because they come back after we knock them outside. I went to the farmers' market and bought a handful of herbs to spruce up my room during the months when my windows will all be closed. I started washing my windows but got interrupted for the Rhiner Festival and a theatrical rollerderby bout (go Skate-a-saurus!). It turned into a multi-bar-then-co-worker's-house-all-nighter. Which turned into Porchfest. Ithaca is a two fest per weekend kind of town.

At work we are now moving the Zinsmeister Collection into place and it is so pretty I'm bummed all over again about not getting the job. I am, however, getting paid, making connections at work, and branching out into other parts of the PRI. The dude who got the job is this man (notice that was eight years ago). Or, in my words, way over-qualified.
