I'm fairly certain I've squee'd about her before on here, but in light of finding out that she's been cast in a double role for Korea's production of Elisabeth, here's a little pimp post for her~
First of all, she started off as the lead singer of Fin KL (where Lee Hyori was the leader :D). They had some awesome songs, with a number of them continuing to be covered by new girl groups to kinda capitalize on that old popularity.
Forever Love (lookit how young they look, omg XDDD) and
Now (which was later redone by the
Wonder Girls, and also covered in a
special performance by SNSD) were probably their most popular tracks. I personally
Feel Your Love as well, not to mention
Forever (the echo of the vocals is weird in this vid, but still pretty good quality), and
Don't Go Away (LOL, I remember being surprised by how "racy" this seemed back in the day XDD. Also, Tiffany's hairstyle in The Boys is totally Yuri's from these promotions. 10+ years, SME, what are your stylists doing?!).
Anyway, Ock Juhyun, after Fin KL's disbandment, had a brief solo career, with the first single being
Nan, which I loved to pieces but apparently wasn't that popular. Here's a more
recent performance, which shows how she's transitioned to musicals. Speaking of which, she's been quite a few, from
Count of Monte Cristo to even
Aida. Also, she was in this great special with the amazing Kolleen Park, where they sang a
duet from Jekyl and Hyde and Juhyun did
Defying Gravity and made me want a Korean production of Wicked 8DDDD
So there ya go, just a couple reasons why I'm so stoked to have Ock Juhyun as Elisabeth~~
