I wanted to wait to post this till after I watched the new episode of Supernatural, but I don't think it's going to happen soon. I don't feel like watching it, I can't find a good reason to, so I think I'll wait and catch up when/if I feel like it.
House MD 7.02 "Selfish"
I liked this episode better than the premiere. For one, they had an actual case - and a good one too. The ending was so sad and touching. I still don't care much about House/Cuddy. I am pretty neutral when it comes to them: I don't ship them, but I don't hate them together either. I just hope they'll stop focusing on them so much. I want my show back.
Gossip Girl 4.03 "The Undergraduates"
Georgina is back! :D I hope they won't ruin her character now. I want her to be a crazy bitch, it's why I like her in the first place.
I don't really care about Nate's girl and whatever she's plotting. I'm guessing revenge? I was glad to see that they didn't repeat themselves once again with the whole Blair-Serena rivalry. I like their friendship.
Chuck's storyline is also interesting. I don't particularly like the French girl, but I guess it's because she's... well, not Blair. But I'm okay with Blair and Chuck not being together for a while. They both need it, I think.
Lone Star 1.02 "One in every family"
I can't say I'm sorry it was canceled. The idea is interesting enough and the cast is good, but it's neither funny nor intense. I just... don't care about the characters or what happens, and I usually do, at least a little.
The Event 1.02 "To keep us safe"
I am really enjoying this. I like that they not only add questions to the list but also give some answers. The idea is cool and I can't wait to see how it goes on from here.
Criminal Minds 6.02 "JJ"
Oh boy, did I cry! Even if I knew it was going to happen, actually seeing it was heartbreaking. The only thing I'm happy about is the way they wrote her out: she didn't want to go, just like AJ didn't, and she had to anyway because of CBS their bosses. Most touching parts: Hotch telling her he tried his best to make her stay but couldn't and that he won't replace her, the goodbye to the team in the bullpen (Reid almost crying was so damn sad, especially since I had just read Gube's tweet about missing AJ more than Spencer will ;__;), the goodbye to Garcia (which is when the tears really started), the whole speech about being a family, the flashbacks... Perfectly done. Everything. The different reactions of the team members really tell you how good the writers are.
I hope all this will at least bring lots of Morgan/Reid hurt/comfort fanfics, because I can't get enough of those. I may even write one if I feel so inspired.
As to the case, I loved it. It was different than usual, and while I was expecting the happy ending (the episode was sad enough with JJ leaving, they couldn't make it any worse) it was still very interesting to watch. Plus bad!cop Morgan is hot as hell. I may or may not have had to go back because I stopped following what they were saying due to dirty thoughts popping up in my mind. *coughs*
One last thing: am I the only one not reading too much into Reid being sick on the plane? I mean, c'mon, they aren't really going to give him some serious disease, are they? The guy's had his father leaving him as a kid, him mum's schizophrenic and he had to take care of her as a child and then have her committed at 18, he was bullied in school, he was kidnapped, tortured and drugged - therefore developing a drug problem, his mentor/father figure left him with just a letter, he was poisoned with anthrax and shot. And probably something else too, along the way. I think it's enough, isn't it?
Modern Family 2.02 "The kiss"
Am I the only one who thinks this new season is boring? :/
The Big Bang Theory 4.02 "The Cruciferous Vegetable Amplification"
This, instead, is always super-funny. If there was a new episode every day, the world would be a better place.
Fringe 3.02 "The box"
I was pleasantly surprised to see that they went back to explain how alternate!Olivia adapted to her new identity and the beginning of her relationship with Peter. Anna Torv is doing an amazing job, by the way.
I also like what seems will be the main storyline of this season, the machine.
The Vampire Diaries 2.04 "Memory Lane"
Wow. This season is much better than the first one. I am actually interested in the plot, I enjoy the scenes Stefan is in, and I watch it on Friday instead of waiting days. I still don't care who Elena ends up with since I don't like her and I don't ship her with either of the Salvatore brothers, I still want Caroline to get back with Matt and I'm still not interested in the werewolves storyline. But I loved the scenes at the party. More of those, please?
Grey's Anatomy 7.02 "Shock to the system"
Another great episode. The scene with Cristina in the O.R. was great, and so was Owen's speech at the end. Now I'm not sure whether I want her to stay with him or to break up with him so Avory has a chance. I hope they are not done with Mark and Lexie, but I don't think so. They are cute together, and I think the alternative is Mark going back to be a man!whore. Which was good, but I like the new Mark too. Bailey was amazing with Alex!
Private Practice 4.02 "Short cuts"
Violet, why did you come back? I'm trying to like her again, but I just can't. I don't like her with Pete and I probably never will. The scene in the end with Cooper was sweet, though. Instead, I LOVE Charlotte. They managed to change her character in the course of the seasons, to make her more human, but she's still herself and she's amazing. I'm also glad that Addison told Naomi about her and Sam.
The merge was something that I was waiting to happen for a while now. When they started the two practices, they were supposed to be rivals. But then, between friendships, relationships, marriages, consults, etc. they never really were. I barely even know who works for one and who works for the other. They are always all together anyway, so I think it's good that they make it official.
THE GATES - Season 1
When I watched the pilot, I liked it, but I didn't think I would like the rest of the season this much. It's an interesting idea: this 'elite' town, used as a safe place for both humans and supernatural creatures, a close community of privileged individuals full of secrets. I think they did a great job with keeping it interesting. The game of who knows and how much they know, with some who know everything and others who know nothing at all, the rivalry between vampires and werewolves, between white and dark magic, and in the midst of it all, humans and their problems: relationships, jealousy, revenge.
I think it's why I like so much Claire and Dylan. They are vampires, they deal with problems like keeping their identities a secret and fighting the urge to feed from humans - but at the same time they have relationship problems that are very much human. My favorite part was probably the 'rape' one. I don't think I've ever seen it done like this before. Humans turned against their will, yes. But vampires 'raping' vampires by sucking their blood, never.
One of the things I enjoyed the most was the friendship between Dylan and Nick. They start as enemies and then Dylan saves Nick's life exposing his secret and thus risking his own life. From there the relationship is constructed very well, with trust building slowly and by necessity. I ship them, too, because it's impossible not to.
Moving on. I usually don't care much about werewolves, but here I really care about the wolves characters. Maybe because they didn't go with the usual moonlight curse thing. It was more about finding a balance between their human nature and their wolf nature. Plus Brett and Lukas are practically canon and they are my OTP for this show. I have only found two fanfics on them (it's a very small fandom, I think there's ten fanfics in total, lol), but at least they were good.
And since we are talking about the younger generation, I have to say I didn't care much about them in the beginning, but then they grew on me. Andie's storyline was not my favorite, and the love triangle was a bit boring in the beginning. But then at some point it got interesting and I really hoped Andie and Brett would get back together. I also think I could like Charlie with Lexie, but it was barely there.
I hope it will get a second season. Not only for the way it ended, but also because there are so many storyline with a lot of potential that I'd like to see developed.
I have also started watching Parenthood. I will write a review as soon as I finish S1 (I've seen till episode 8 so far).
One last thing: Are there any new series I should check out? There are a few old ones I want to watch/catch up with, but if there's something new worth watching, I have plenty of time right now, lol.
