We took Epitaph, Shimojima, Tsuji, and her cloned "child of God" out. Nagi broke all of Z-Class by himself, which was horrifying to watch.
killwithmymind, Crawford didn't show up wearing a monocle. He wore glasses and a dark suit to go with his silver hair. Schuldig wore a long coat, pants, a shirt in a shade of magenta no redhead should ever wear, and a tie. The you here was severely fashionable and had a choppy haircut. You may be pleased to hear that he looked hot. They took on three of the four psionics Eszett had working defense. Nagi said they were doing it for their own reasons. I didn't like how intimately Omi appeared to know him because Omi never told me anything about it, but I guess it's none of my business.
Tsuji's godchild gave the rest of us a hell of a lot of trouble.
He threw us around with telekinesis like we were nothing, sent one of Omi's own crossbow bolts through his shoulder, and snapped Yohji's left leg. We finally had to... Ken had to hold the boy in place and let me stab. I was very careful to miss Ken's vital organs but it was horrible. It led to the needed deathblow for the clone, though. Before that, Yohji and I had to double-team Tsuji to finally kill her. Shimojima was kind enough to blow his own brains out after he saw Nagi snap Z-Class into pieces as if they were cheap plastic toys.
Epitaph was a computer. Big-ass computer. Big-ass computer that can control people's minds. I have no idea how that works. Omi "killed" it though, and then we blew up most of the campus to destroy Epitaph's components as well as the cloning equipment. Unfortunately... I'm sorry, but Kisaragi Fumie didn't survive it. We figured out that she was mind-controlled and managed to restrain her, but when Omi fried Epitaph her brain activity seemed to go with it, then her heart. We didn't expect it. She was just... gone. The doctors at the hospital couldn't do anything for her. Everybody else was getting medical attention, while I just had bruises and something that needed (and received) quick stitching.
...I'm not telling this well. [locked to Sena] We reached the hospital, called Sena in, and Kyo and I told him about his mother. We told him how she had fought but couldn't win against the mind control and how Epitaph had unexpectedly taken vengeance on her. He cried on both of us while we tried to comfort him. Within an hour he fell into an exhausted sleep. Kyo set Sena up comfortably against his arm as they sat in the waiting room chairs and told me to go get some quiet time to myself. He's a good man, one that may have a decent idea of who I am despite everything. [/locked]
I wandered off through the hospital a bit but stopped dead when I saw Schuldig standing in the doorway. I'd briefly seen Schwarz as Weiß got into the med-evac helicopter. Nagi had looked like a drowned rat, Schuldig had lost his coat and tie and sweated through his shirt. Crawford had blood all over one side of his face and hadn't looked to be in good health. Omi had made a "come with us" gesture, but Nagi had cast him a disdainful look. I remembered that Schuldig had been giving me a very different look right before Schwarz had disappeared. He had a much intenser version of that look on his face as he stood in the doorway here.
"Where have you been going, little kitten?" Schuldig asked. "I see different versions of your team and mine and all kinds of crazy things in your head. I see you fucking with a dark-haired Yohji."
It gave me chills and made me try to shield myself better. "If you know all of that, what more do you need? Go back to your Crawford. He'll be fine, given some rest."
Schuldig winced, then he said, "You and the littlest kitten have been giving him conniptions for about two years. You kept fucking up his pretty, settled futures out of nowhere. This is it, isn't it? This is why."
He moved so fast that I had no chance to dodge. In seconds he had me pinned against the wall, with his hands clenched on my arms, one of them right over my recently stitched wound, making me grit my teeth. Having faced the pyro, he smelled like sweat, char, and blood. I could feel him clawing into my mind and fought him with everything I had in me. Losing patience, he smacked my head back into the wall hard, making me see stars. Even dazed, I kept struggling and sending my rage and hate at him. That seemed to push him out a bit, and he gave me the weirdest look that soon turned almost possessive.
"Get away from me!" I said.
"But I have to help the tiny seed grow!"
I had no idea what he meant. Fortunately Kyo and Sena came running down the hallway to us, Kyo armed. I could almost see Schuldig running calculations of the fight in his mind. "You're safe for now, Aya. Try appreciating that gift." Schuldig tossed me at Kyo and Sena and sped out the exit.
"Damn!" Kyo said.
"He'll be back," I answered. "That's the horrible thing."
"Hey, Aya, your nose is bleeding a bit. Should I ask what was going on with Schuldig?"
"No."
I'm still not sure what that thing with Schuldig was about.
