Interlude: All Right

Aya finished his usual practice but didn't want to cool down yet. He had too much energy going. Nobody was around to watch, right? He took an iPod out of his bag, put the earphones on, and dialed through it looking for something fast. Once he found a song, he smirked at himself, selected it, and started to dance with his sheathed katana. This music demanded more sinuous movements than his usual practice, so it would be a good workout anyway. Flexibility was valuable.

He was going for a while before Ken said, "What the hell is going on?" loudly enough that Aya could hear it even through his earphones.

As he removed his earphones and turned to face Ken, Yohji, and Kyo, Aya chided himself for putting his back to the door at some point. "Working out." He noticed that Ken looked stunned, Yohji amused (and nearly turned on, but that wasn't unusual), and Kyo slackjawed. Not good.

"I've never seen you work out like that! You were... twirling your katana."

"It was sheathed, and I have flexible wrists."

"Oh, baby, just like the rest of you," Yohji murmured.

"I'm listening to music," Aya said.

"What is it?"

Aya looked at his iPod. "Right now it's 'Coke & Vaseline' by Snake River Conspiracy."

Ken said, "You're just doing this now to mess with Kyo's head, aren't you?"

"I did it because I enjoyed it."

"Dance with me, Aya?" Yohji asked.

He didn't know. "Can you do it without being perverted about it? Because if you do something disgusting it's over." He'd been feeling especially well disposed toward Yohjis in general lately.

"I can!"

"All right."

"When you're sane again, you know where to find me," Ken said as he grabbed Kyo by the arm and led him away.

"Be right back!" Yohji said, moving quickly as if afraid that Aya would quickly change his mind, and came back with a stereo stuff, closing the door behind him. "iPod, please." He hooked Aya's iPod up, then started rolling through the selections.

"Yohji!"

"You have such bipolar tastes.... I think I have a party mix ready."

"I'm having second thoughts."

"It'll be club dancing, not ballroom dancing where we're holding on to each other. C'mon." He started the first song and started to dance, if you could call it that.

"You look ridiculous."

"So look ridiculous with me."

Aya did, slowly losing self-consciousness about it. He even started to enjoy it. It helped that Yohji kept his word.
