Yo - I've been cooking every day and its, like, OK. There is a real sense of normalcy to cooking. We have been eating good food, salad, meat, startch, vegatables and, of course, dessert every day. Lots of fresh fruit too. It gives me something to do and Mary and Nanny are cleaning up afterward, which is the best part.
Today, we heard a report from St. Bernard Parish. The word from the parish is that - get this - the entire parish is "unrecoverable." Those are the words they used. Unrecoverable as in can't be saved, like don't come back. The word is that rebuilding could begin perhaps - get this - next summer. Like a year from now. There is a toxic soup at the south end of the parish where Murphy Oil lost a vessel of some sort. Benzine contamination is so severe that the Corps of Engineers does not think the area can - get this - ever be reinhabited
How about the yin and yang of that???
