I Have the Plague D:
Actually, it's just strep with pneumonia, but it feels like the plague. I also discovered that the best time to go to a walk-in medicenter is in the middle of a white-out. I was in and out in ten minutes, which never, ever happens (I was expecting a minimum 2-hour wait, probably more like 3-4 hours). I guess everyone woke up this morning, saw the raging blizzard that's going on outside, and determined they weren't THAT sick. Thankfully, I can hibernate for a few days, and keep my cooties to myself.
Winter is hitting us, big time. We usually get a taste of it before the real thing comes along (a bit of snow, melts right away, rinse and repeat a time or two), but not this time. We're getting slammed today, with weather warnings (15cm/6" of snow expected) and it's supposed to drop to -30C on the weekend, which is going to suck SO BAD. We better not have another winter like last year, with 50 feet of snow falling. Screw that.
Why can't I just win the lottery and buy a nice house in Hawaii?
