It's now the second week of classes, and I've found that while I still need to learn effective time management skills for my extremely busy schedule, I'm doing all right. So far I've had at least one homework assignment in all of my classes (the three I had my very first day back all assigned a full chapter reading and associated homework!), but it hasn't been too bad.
Anatomy is just as interesting as it was when I took it in high school, only now the course is far more detailed and is going at a much faster pace. In two sessions we've done a general but detailed overview of the human body and a pretty detailed intro to cytology. Tomorrow we're delving into histology. The lab isn't bad, but so far we've only met once. I've never worried about labs, though. They're always pretty straightforward. The actual lecture bit will probably be the class to kick my ass.
Chemistry is great so far. I had my professor for tenth grade general science and for chemistry in my senior year, so I already know him and his teaching style, and I know exactly what to expect from his tests and so forth.
Statistics is tough but doable, I think. I've had the professor before, and she's one who will explain everything a hundred times over in a hundred different ways just to make sure that everyone is on the same page. I was mediocre at the statistics portion of my high school Trig class, though, so we'll see what happens in this class.
Anthropology is my favorite class so far. The professor we have is really fun and the subject itself is fascinating. I've even participated in group discussions willingly. If the whole nursing thing doesn't pan out, I think I'll give anthropology (specifically biological or linguistic anthropology) a go.
I need to get off LiveJournal so I can get ready for my Skype date with Lindsay. Peace!
