oookay I kinda stopped reading that cause I haven't finished it (I've actually only read bits and pieces but I read the last chapter fully and the Prince's tale or whatever that chapter was that feature Snape and Dumbledore

what part do you mean, with the dementors and the doe? There weren't any dementors in the woods when the doe appeared...the doe led him to the sword of Gryffindor. If you mean in the end of PoA, then yes, it was Harry who made the stag (not doe)--he thought it was his father but really it was him from the future.
I don't think they waited that long to have kids--Harry and Ginny's son James was older, probably 13, and Rose and Albus were 11, and then Lily and probably Hugo were 9. I mean, considering that Harry/Ron/Hermione were 17 and Ginny was 16 at the end of the last book, that'd mean Ginny had James when she was 22...hardly a long time, hahaha. I just hated all the names, with the exception of 'Rose', because I thought it was cute that Ron called her Rosie.
If you thought Harry/Hermione were gonna end up together, you're nuts, hahaha. All the signs in the books have always pointed to Ron/Hermione, like it or not. I do happen to like them, but I don't like Harry and Ginny, for the reasons above, haha.
I'd have to say this is the best review of the book I've read -- not because it agrees with me, but because it is FAIR MINDED. None of this, "Snape died, it's so unfair, HATE YOU FOREVER, JK!" nonsense. I like this reasoned, thoughtful approach of yours

I jump into a raging river, bound to land by a rope hooked to a tree. Using the rope, I pull myself out of the river and back to land. I unhook the rope.
This doesn't mean I'm going to drown now, does it?
Hmm, yeah, that makes sense. I guess I saw it more as 'you jump into a raging river, and grab onto a friend's leg who is clinging to a rope hooked to a tree. The friend lets go. you both drown.' However, your version makes a lot more sense based on the book, haha. :)
To be fair to Remus in POA, there was no way around him not telling anyone about Sirius, plot-wise. It was simply a trap she wrote herself into that there was no way out of and Remus had to take one for the team. If he had told anyone, then everyone would have already known about Sirius being a dog, and they probably would have caught him or at the very least it would have taken a lot of the suspense out of the later revelations in the book. I don't really think it's fair to view that as a character flaw of Remus's since she really couldn't write it any other way. No one could know about Sirius for the end to be the least bit interesting

Eh, I don't agree. If you use that logic, any character's actions could be explained by moving the plot/making it interesting. I mean, of course it makes sense, but the fact that JKR needed Remus to be self-centered and lacking in courage in the case of Sirius doesn't change the fact that in he was self-centered and lacking in courage (in the situation, he certainly has shown courage in other situations). Excusing the way a character is because it HAS to be that way for the plot doesn't change the fact that the character IS that way.
Thank you! I feel the exact same way, and ever since she first appeared in the books deep down I shipped them. I just don't like Ginny and Harry. I feel like their romance just came out of no where. I'm sorry, but I just don't buy it. Plus, I don't like the character of Ginny which made it even harder. She was just so average no matter how much J.K. tried to talk her up. Luna was just a marvelous, understanding little weirdo, and for that I will always love her

I started shipping Luna and Harry when Luna revealed why they could both see the threshals (sp?), but especially at the ending where Luna was looking for her things and Harry offered to help and it really felt like they just *connected*. I like Luna for Harry for the same reason I like Ron/Hermione--they were not, like Ginny, created to be someone's love interest. They all exist independently from one another, with very distinct personalities, where really Ginny fades into the background of No Personality and No Interest when we aren't being forcefully reminded that she is Harry's One True Love (tm). Therefore, I can't really like her because she has no identity of her own. We were never supposed to like Ginny on her own--we were just supposed to like her for Harry. At least in the later books, that is--I actually found Ginny in the second book pretty endearing with her child crush
