I found out the other day that we now have a cupcake shop in town!! A couple of University graduates (who are around my age) started the store. It's called Yum Cupcakery and I have yet to go, but found their website today:
theyumshop.com/ I was checking out the different flavors (they even fill the cupcakes!) and was wondering if you could put together a pina colada flavored cupcake. Well not with them. But now I am determined to make my own pina colada cupcake and thanks to Betty Crocker's website, I found a recipe!
www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/pina-colada-cupcakes/208a504b-cb68-4b35-829f-3a4f3c48fa9a So that is my project for tomorrow! I need to get a few things for the recipe still. I may also mix up some sugar cookie dough to bake when my mom gets home from work. We got fun cookies cutters and have yet to use them.
Today I went over to a friends house and we make bagels! Never done that before! She had already made the dough and had to wait for it to rise. So when I got there we rolled it into balls, waited for it to rise a little longer, and then made them into doughnut-like shapes (with holes in the middle). First you boil those for a few minutes, add toppings (I put sesame seeds on mine), and then bake them for about 20 minutes. They were really good!
I'll leave you with this deliciousness! (Raspberry chocolate cake, with chocolate cherry filling, blueberry frosting, and cherry syrup with a maraschino cherry)
