Long lost in the view from the shinkansen, no one knew why was he so detached these few weeks. It was not their first time to be away from their home, it was not their first trip together neither was it their first time having a hard time with each other.

Itou looked at the younger one from a far. He had been watching his junior for a while yet he did not know what could he do or say to make a smile appear on the younger one’s face. “Any brilliant ideas, aniki?” The loudness of Kiriyama’s voice boomed in the silence of the train’s cabin.

“Urusai.” Itou said a little softly. “What ideas? I’m not one of you guys anymore.” Non-chalantly he spoke to the younger one without even bothering to turn to look at the other boy. He was not. Well not anymore. It was just a strange coincidence that he was sat in the same train with the boys he used to work with for most of his life. A life not that he was trying to forget but more like a life that he was trying to get away from.

“Mou~” The younger one pouted. “I’m not talking about the pouting little birdie over there. I’m talking about you.” Kiriyama had always been close to him. The one he could rely on, the one he could talk to and the one that would cheer him up.

When the news of him quitting the agency broke, Kiriyama and Nakama was the one of the first ones that he had spoken to. He had been thinking about his decision for quite a while, but he just could not voice it out with out any reason. For the fact that he had spent half of his life doing something that he love as a carrier, he find it mundane as he had to fight for the same dream people way younger than him is also fighting for, only they might have a better chance, or so he thought.

Feeling a little detached from a person he used to adore and used to idolized, Kiriyama sighed as he stood up to go back to his seat. “Wait.” Itou said as he caught the younger one’s arm and motioned him softly to seat back down. “I missed being apart of this, but I have my own responsibility for myself now.” Itou began to speak.

Kiriyama backed away a little. “I didn’t mean to bother you. I saw you when we were coming in and I thought we could have a small talk, just like old times. I know how you hate train rides. I guess I was wrong.”

The younger boy who was staring outside the shinkansen window turned as he heard the familiar voice. As soon as his mind registers the face, he instantly turned his head back to it’s natural position. “I don’t mean it that way.” Itou sighed realizing he had came out harder than he should have. “I didn’t expect to see all of you here. I was so disappointed with what I’m right now. Not because I do not like what I’m right now but more of because there are so much disappointment that goes along with what I choose to be. I need help, maybe. But I needed you more than ever but I’m just afraid to admit it.”

A soft smile broke on Kiriyama’s lip. “I’m always there to listen to you, to just be there and share your joy and pain, you know you jus have to pick up the phone and call me. You know that I’m always willing to go out for a drink anytime when I’m not busy.” He spoke.

“I miss that.” The older on said looking down on his hands as his right hand played with the silver ring on his left fourth finger. Kiriyama knew exactly what he was saying yet the poker faced guy just kept a straight face. “Your smile.” He said quietly.

A shadow covered them as the soft voice of the boy spoke “Can I talk to the both of you for a second?” Kusumoto Yukito spoke softly. Kiriyama’s gesture was more than inviting the younger boy to sit beside him. Itou was hesitated but he knew he was once the closest to the younger one. He used to be the big brother that the boy relied on.

Kusumoto stood still. It was not that he needed the approval of Itou, it was just that he felt he lost a part of him when Itou decided to quit and cut any communication with them.

A few seconds lapse and Kusumoto was sure that he was the reason for the older boy to quit. He was the reason for him to leave the agency and not leave any news. Sighing softly, he turned to back himself to his seat. “Not everything is your fault you know.” Itou spoke. Somehow deep inside he too felt guilty. The responsibility that was basically thrown to him at a very fragile age made him who he was, yet he wanted so badly just to be the person that the others in the company would just made as a friend. A friend. Just another friend.

Kiriyama somehow understands the line and the thoughts that the older one was feeling. He took it upon himself to replace the emptiness that was made when Itou left. He took it upon himself to bear the responsibilities as a big brother when tow of his best friends was let go and left the younger ones with lesser people to depend on.

He too was not perfect. He too has his faults. His battles and his dreams. Though he felt to achieve his dreams he needed the younger ones and to achieve his dreams is to fulfill the responsibilities that he would have to take sooner or later in life.

“What’s wrong?” Kiriyama injected. “You have been so far, are you sick?” He questioned. Kusumoto just reply with a shook of the head. “Come on, sit down.” He spoke so softly that his voice came out more as a whisper rather than his loud booming voice that people usually hear coming out of his mouth.

Kusumoto was hesitant. He felt that he needed to speak to someone yet some how he could not find someone to share his problem. “Hey, I’m still the same person before I left. I was just taken by surprise to see all of you here. I’ve planned this trip for so long. Seeing you all here, I know I will never do what I have planned.” Itou spoke. His tone was sincere, yet there was a bit of hopefulness in them.

“They are taking him as well aren’t they?” Kusumoto spoke out of the blue. His voice was on the brink of breaking. His mind was about to burst and his tears were already pooling.

Kiriyama took in a deep breath. He knew exactly what Kusumoto was saying. He too was afraid for the day to come yet, he had no control for it. Itou look at them questioningly.

“What have been going on since I left?” It was then that Kiriyama realized that Itou Masashi, the caring and super sweet big brother was back. “Yuma is not going any where. He’s one of us, he always has been and he will always be. No matter where he is.”

Kiriyama shook his head discreetly at Itou. “Not about that.” He mouthed. “Did you ask him?” Kiriyama questioned. Kusumoto just shook his head. “Look, I had the same feeling for this guy long before he took off. I asked him straight up and he told me he had a girlfriend.” Kiriyama said.

“I have a girlfriend. I still have one.” Itou interjected.

“My point exactly.” Kiriyama rolls his eyes. “Yuki chan, Yuma is not going anywhere. You’re not going to get an answer by just waiting.”

“Maashi.” An excited voice squealed. The voice that Kusumoto was afraid to hear. Afraid to look up, to see the nightmare of his days to come. Itou look up to see what Kusumoto was talking about. One thing about them is that they are close enough that sometimes the unuttered words are those that speaks the loudest to them. “Are you going to come by the office sometimes?” Nakayama questioned. “ I want to show you something. Maybe I could follow you and get into Astronomy as well.” He continued. Itou just smiled and nodded. ‘Sure.’ He said a little silently.

“He’s not with him.” Itou said as soon as Nakayama was out of sight. “He had his battles to. Believe me, it’s better for you just to forget those thoughts.” Itou shook his head smiling.

The ride that used to feel like it will take forever finally came to a halt. Kusumoto did not know where the strength came from but it was there, right there and then. He tug Nakayama’s arm softly and urged the older one to walk with him, leaving his Tokyo friend for just a little moment.

When he was sure that no one was watching or even being in sight of someone that could possibly judge them. Kusumoto pulled the older one close and the electrocution seize through their body. As their lips met, Kusumoto felt like he was flying, yet the tingling sensation that he had been feeling all these while, waiting and speaking to Nakayama was not there.

“What was that for?” Nakayama questioned, a little out of breath and stunned as he pulled away a little. “Yuki chan, why?” he questioned.

Kusumoto just shook his head. “I don’t feel it.” He said quietly. “You do love him.” He mumbled to the wind as he tried to escape any answer that he would have to explain.

“Her. Yuki. I love her. I think I love her.” Nakayama said catching the arm of the younger one. “I thought I love her. Until that.” He spoke. “Yuki?”

Kusumoto turned and faced the person he thought he would hold and love. “I thought you love him.” He said breathing out a little too loud.

“Yamada was helping me. He have a girlfriend and a nice relationship that I envy. I want to have what he have, so I ask him for help and for advise, that’s all to it.” Nakayama said as his hand traces the edges of Kusumoto smooth face.

*******

A soft knock rapt on the door of his apartment. Itou smiled slightly to himself. The one person that he had been waiting since he stepped on to the train to get home to. “Hey.” He said opening the front door to his house.

“I’m jealous of her. You keep talking about her all the time in the train, how she kiss you while you are sleeping, or pretending to be asleep. How she touch you and how her skin give you the goose bumps.” The other boy said as he made his way in to the ever familiar apartment.

Itou threw his hands around his lover. “I miss you Junta. You have no idea how much I miss you. And you have no idea how much it kills me when the kids were sleeping on your shoulders.” Itou said breathing each sent of his lover in just to keep it and to savor each inch of him.

Nakama led the older boy to the couch as he placed his lips softly on the other ones. “I love you.” Nakama hissed. “I don’t mind being your girlfriend.” He said as he kept kissing the other boy. “As long as we can always be there for each other.”
