This is not to say I'm not enjoying myself. I'm actually managing to have a relatively good time, save for the occasional problem with my family. It's simply that I find myself intimidated by Americans. I find myself almost painfully uncomfortable with how...rushed everything feels here. And how distant the people are. They just walk right through you. There's never any 'excuse me' or 'sorry' or...anything, really. It's not that this has been my first trip to the states, but Vegas seems...worse. A lot more shoving and cursing and dirty looks...It's not pleasant. And it leaves me nervous and skittish when I'm outside of my hotel room.
That aside, let's recap what we did yesterday as I seem to forget to post on time anymore. Yesterday, Sunday, we hit our first buffet after hanging about at the pool. And I ate too much, but that seems to be the standard here. It seems to be a requirement, really. Then my dad thought it necessary for us to change rooms so that his room and our room -- myself and my mom's friend -- could be connected. We had to pack everything up again and move down four floors, which proved to be a bit of a hassle, but...whatever. We managed. But the second room wasn't ready yet, so we wandered around and shopped, at which point I bought myself a new pair of Converse shoes. If only because my high heels were not made for Vegas walking. The room was ready by the time we were done, and we came back to move half the stuff into that. After that, we bought some 24 hour bus passes and made use of the Vegas transit system, hitting the Flamingo, the Wynn, and Freemont. We spent the evening out in Freemont, I got a little tipsy, and we made our way back. We were supposed to go gambling later, but once we were back to our rooms, my dad passed out and I just sat around seeking sobriety.
Today, we went to Mandalay Bay for our buffet, and it was decidedly better than the one here at the Monte Carlo. And the hotel was gorgeous. I think I'm in love with that one. Haha. From there, though, we used the bus once again to get to the Southern Outlet Shopping District thing, and we essentially spent our afternoon there. It was pretty cool. Though there was way too much, and I have all of five dollars left. Tonight we're apparently going to try gambling again, and we'll see if I can't make the money back.
SO! That's about it. My past two days in as quick detail as I can manage. More updates to come~.
