The sunlight changes everything.
Most days she is up before sunrise, the nightmares she will never admit to having fading in the light of day.
He doesn’t care. He lives in a nightmare, a life he can’t control.
But when they’re together, their bodies fit and even the truth can’t move them.
She loves him and he knows it. It’s not crazy passion or undying obsession. It’s something different and unique and so utterly them.
The same for all eternity.
In the moonlight together there can be no nightmares, nothing but each other.
And even when the morning’s twilight comes, with the ghost of his hand on her back or the feather-like tickle of his breath on her neck, they still fit.
But always, forever, when the sunlight comes and fills her room, it changes everything.
He is gone.
