The Great Debate(s)

Sep 25, 2009 18:30

Hi, everyone!

So, it's FRIDAY at last!! Yayz! I value my weekends ever so much. But as per typical I have homework. So I'll try working on the update but I really have no idea when it's going to actually show up on you guys's monitors for enjoyment. :(

Hey, have you guys ever noticed that you get all worked up for a plot, and right before you're going to start on actually creating the scene in your head in-game, you get another idea, lose all interest in the current plot, and devote all your thoughts to the new one? *raises hand meekly* It ALWAYS happens to me! I wish it wouldn't, I really do. It's annoying because said shiny brand new plot seems a bajillion times better than the current plot.

Anyway! At the moment I am debating two things in between plot formulating. And I'd like opinions very muchly!

Debate 1 is Should June Get AL?

Ever since OMFGWITCHES in AL were announced I've been wanting it. I run a Harry Potter Alphabetacy here, dammit, if there is a way to get witches I must go that way! (lolway.) But then I was like, "Meh, it's only witches...I can do without."

And then I played AL a couple weeks ago. And ohmigee, it's so awesome! I mean, ceilings are amazing. Ceilings would help make many a scene. So many shots have been wrecked by lack of ceilings. Also, if I had AL I could use the Freezer Clock, and everyone knows I'd make good use of it. Plus apartments are FUN! I like my Sims having neighbors and being able to visit and everything. And walking! Walking places is amazing! (It was carried over from BV, right?) And the clothes and hairs as well. It's a very well-rounded EP, in my opinion, like Seasons and NL. I also love Belladonna Cove, I wish I could have explored the hood moar when I had played it. Oh, and the romantic interactions rule. I love suck face and classic dance, I think they're indescribably adorable. Also cuddle under the stars, and cuddle in bed. Oh, and spiral staircases and being able to adjust height of decorations. Cause that's not random.

Buuuuuut...my system's no supercomputer. Amazing, true. Gets better play than I expected, true. Crashes frequently, also true. Lags on large lots, very true. No CAS, so true it hurts. So...I'm torn. On one hand, AL is awesome. On another, it's just another technical woe. So...opinions, please? Those of you with AL, did it totally revolutionize gameplay for you? Is it worth suffering possible lag?

Debate 2 is Should June Make Her LJ Friends-Only?

Debate 2 is a more random, out-of-nowhere topic. Until like last night, I never so much as considered making my journal friends-only. Personally I find it a bit snooty (speaking as an outsider), but in my case I never found it necessary. I mean, my journal's never really been personally. It's mostly been Hermione's ABCs, and I've never given out my personal info over the Internet, nevermind LJ. I mean, no real e-mail address, no location (Best I can give you: Eastern Time Zone), no nothing. Hell, I don't even give out my siblings' names. So I never even considered it an option, really. But last night I realized a vast majority of people do in fact have f-locked journals. And I also realized it might be a safer thing to do. So, opinions? F-locked journals, necessary or not? I'm not totally into the idea, as I said, I find it a bit snooty. Also I direct plenty of people to my journal, people who might not have LJs or might not have friended me. So?

Also, I updated my Bio on LJ if you care to read it. I added stuff about MCR, juneandheather , and probably something else. I forget.

My brain's been occupied with lots of romance recently, which pleases my hopeless romantic nature. And I've been planning characters. And by that I mean dressing up Hermia Capp as I would dress future characters to make sure it's the right look and everything matches. Thus far it does. Also, I dl'd Aikea Guinea's wall writings, and not only are they my New Favorite Download, they'll also be useful in a scene in the very near future. ;)

So! Opinions wanted/needed/or something. Chapter maybe at some point in teh futurez.

Quote of the Day: "Ooh...ZING!"

Note on the mood theme: MiniGerard's sign says "Will sing for coffee." And he totally would. ;D
