Hi, everyone!
Why am I spamming your f-list? Cause I'm Jack Bauer, dammit, that's why!
Sorry, I'm on a bit of a 24 high. I watched like the last three episodes last season, and I was hooked. I LOVE 24. So much! So my dad got like half of the first season on DVD from the library, and I've been staying up till like 11 at night watching episodes. I'm only up to 4 AM, so no spoilers!
What I love about 24 is that there's a million different things going on that are all connected somehow. Like Jack and his wife (I forget if they're actually divorced or whatever) are trying to make things work, but their daughter Kim hates the mom and blames her for Jack leaving in the first place (daddy's girl in extreme mode) and she sneaks out. But Jack can't be home to help find her cause he's a badass CTU agent and he has to be at HQ, where one of his coworkers is his ex Nina who he dated when he and Teri were seperated and my dad keeps saying Nina stalks him which she kinda does so she does whatever he asks her to, including manipulating another of their coworkers Tony who likes Nina. *deep breath* ANYWAY, there's a plot to assassinate the black candidate for candidacy for president, cause this all happens on the day of the California presidential primary, and the candidate is David Palmer, aka the guy from the Allstate insurance commercials.
Me: "WOAH it's the Allstate guy!!!!"
So CTU has to isolate the threat and Jack has to go to desperate measures to get information of this other jerk in charge named George Something, and it seems the assassination is an inside job, specifically inside CTU! Meanwhile Kim and her friend have been kidnapped by their dates who are actually kidnappers and apparently also involved in the huge assassination plot, which apparently will happen at a breakfast with important people in the morning apparently. And planes blow up and there are lesbian evil conspirators and I got way too attached to a minor character. See, Jack is fighting some unknown assailant and a cop shows up, and I affectionately nicknamed her "Black-Lady-Cop-with-a-Fro-who-Speaks-Spanish." Say that three times fast. But then of course Black-Lady-Cop-with-a-Fro-Who-Speaks-Spanish just HAD to die. I mean, it advanced the plot and such, but I was distraught. My reaction:
Me: "NOOOO, NOT BLACK-LADY-COP-WITH-A-FRO-WHO-SPEAKS-SPANISH!!!! D:"
So basically I love 24. I want Hermione's ABCs to have a million different things going on at once too! Being bored isn't allowed! I'm really looking forward to the new season of 24 in January, and I wanna get several seasons on DVD for my birthday. October 14, people, wheee! I also want Volume 13 of Death Note which isn't in the library for some reason and a Twister game. And candy. Also, last night I heard the song "The World is Ugly" by (duh) MCR. And...wow. That's one of the most beautiful, sorrowful songs I've ever heard. I read the lyrics and I almost cried. I never cry reading lyrics. I cry watching Disney movies, but not at lyrics! The song (which technically has no name since it was never given an official name, "TWIU" is a fan-given name) is addressed to someone's ex who they think is beautiful, even though they're not together anymore, and how even though the world is ugly, "you're beautiful to me."
Lyrics for you to cry at:
The world is ugly / But you're beautiful to me / Are you thinking of me? / Are you thinking of him? / The world is ugly / And you wanted me to go / I just wanted you to know / That the world is ugly / But you're beautiful to me / Are you thinking of me? / Are you thinking of him? / You can say "I told you so" / If you wanted me to go / I just wanted you to know / That the world is ugly / But you're beautiful to me / Are you thinking of me? / Are you thinking of him? / You can say "I told you so" / If you wanted me to go / I just wanted you to know / The world is ugly / But you're beautiful to me / Are you thinking of me? / Could we both be ugly? / Are you thinking I'm the one? / We could fight it to the end / I just wanna hold your hand / And you're probably just too good / I just wanted you to know.
...
*sobs* I swear I almost cried. My voice got all funny for a minute. I'm almost crying now. It's such a beautiful, sad song. The end really gets me: "I just wanted you to know." I really hope it's on the new record. Which I am BEYOND excited for! The day it comes out I'm going to take the bus to the mall and go buy it, even though it takes me a half hour to get home as it is. I'll spend the ride drooling over the album.
Wow, three posts in a row! Don't think this is regular, tho. I have so much work. I get to write a script for drama, which is epically awesome, but otherwise all the work is just plain soul-draining. D:
Quote of the Day: "SWEET MERCIFUL CRAP!!! What did you kids do to my shirt?!"
And Story Behind the Mood Theme! Mini-blonde!Gerard decides to do Nanowrimo, and insists he's got a great idea and he'll totally beat it this year. But after one panel of being excited, Mini-blonde!Gerard runs out of ideas. MiniMikey learns the hard way never to rub your own Nano success in the face of someone having writer's block. It's actually one of my favorite comics from MiniMCR, cause it will be my life in two months. Yeah, I'm going to try Nano this year. Watch my brain explode from dealing with Nano and school at the same time! Until then, comic:
