...Beautiful Sinners...

Part 5 [End]

The next day...

When Saga entered the practice room, he found his fellow members had gathered around the small table, enjoying their morning coffees. Saga put a smile on his face, greeting them with his tiny voice.

“Saga, coffee?”
“No thanks, Nao. I already had one,” Saga answered his bandleader as he sat down next to Shou.

Shou stole a glance at him and switched to Tora who sat across from him. The tall guitarist was still drinking his coffee, not even interested in joining their small conversation. The situation between them was really uncomfortable. Shou felt a small tug on his sleeve. Turning his head to the side, he found Hiroto who was staring at him. The brunette had a questioning look on his face.

Shou understood what that face meant as he leant closer to Hiroto and whispered to him, “Looks like everything is not yet solved. We had better not get involved into this, Hiroto.”

“But I’m worried, Shou. Tora is never like this before. I used to spend most of my times with him, and I know it’s the first time he looks so frustrated like this.”
“I know. I’m worried, too. Saga is my best friend and I never want to see him sad like this.”

At that time, Tora put his cup down on the table a bit hard. Shou and Hiroto were startled and when they saw Tora’s facial expression, they knew Tora had overheard their little conversation and he was angry because of that. Hiroto had a guilty look. He bit his lip, feeling scared when Tora stood up. Shou glanced at Saga and found that the bassist was pretending to ignore the current situation. His eyes were focused on his cup as he brought it up closer to his mouth and sipped the black warm liquid. Meanwhile, Nao who sat next to Tora, looked up at the guitarist as he stood up and just sighed deeply. He also put his cup down and followed Tora who was now busying himself with his guitar. When Nao approached his drum kits, he spoke to the three on the sofa.

“We’ll start practicing, guys. C’mon, finish your coffee fast.”

“Reita, you’re still thinking of him?”

Reita was startled when he saw Uruha’s face really close to him. He watched the blonde putting his guitar above his lap.

“Yes, Uruha. What about you? Don’t you think it’s a bit...strange?”
“It is. But what I’m scared the most is...It could be dangerous. Didn’t you see his face when he talked to us this morning?”
“I wonder if he asked Saga, too.”
“Maybe he did. Or maybe he will. He wants to finish this all, doesn’t he?”
“So do us, Uruha. It’s not only his problem. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed because he made it as if we are the troublemakers. What the hell?! We’re in the same boat, for God’s sake! It’s our entire fault!”
“Reita, calm down.”

Reita took a deep breath as Uruha tried to calm him down. Taking the bass from Reita’s grip, Uruha put it on a safe place beside him. On his other side, Reita was propping his head with his hands.

“Say, Reita. Will you come?”
“If I want to solve this problem, I have to come. No other choice, I guess.”
“If you come, so do I.”

With that, Uruha ended their conversation. He was still thinking about this morning event though. He was about to get into the lift with Reita when he saw Tora run towards them. Tora got inside the same lift as theirs. As the lift started moving, Tora spoke up. Uruha remembered it very clearly, that Tora refused to look at them when he spoke. The other guitarist said in a cold voice, asking them to come to PS Company rooftop after their band rehearsal ended. Tora didn’t tell them further more about that, though. When they reached their floor, the lift opened and Tora stepped out first. Without saying anything, the tallest one walked ahead.

“Stop thinking of him, Uruha. We have another thing to do. Let’s go.”

This time, Uruha was taken aback from his deep thoughts. Reita had stood up and was now grabbing his bass. Uruha nodded a bit and followed the bassist to continue their practice. Kai was just coming in and after lunch break; they were all ready to practice again.

During lunch break, Saga tried to talk to Tora but the other seemed to avoid him. Well, not only him, though. Saga saw Hiroto being welcomed by Tora’s cold gaze when the small guitarist also tried to talk to Tora.

Poor Hiroto. Usually, Tora wouldn’t act like that to him, Saga thought.

Saga sighed and decided to take a seat far away from all of them. Shou noticed that and the vocalist approached Saga with two cans of orange juice in his hands.

“Anything’s better?” Shou asked as he handed one of the cans to Saga.

Saga reluctantly accepted the can. He forced himself to smile at Shou.

“I hope things will get better. However, it’s more difficult than I’ve thought.”
“Don’t worry. You guys will make it. I know the four of you are not kids anymore, so I’m sure this problem will be solved soon.”
“Thanks, Shou.”
“Anytime.”
“By the way, I’m sorry about Hiroto. He doesn’t deserve a bad treatment like that from him. They’re best friends, aren’t they?”
“Hiroto can understand about that. Don’t worry about him too. And I think you need to get relaxed, Saga. You look so tired these days.”
“Yes, you’re right. Maybe later. Thanks for your advice, Shou.”

Shou smiled widely at him. Thanked to Shou, Saga felt a bit lighten up now. He also drank his orange juice, hoping it would distract him from all problems even just for a bit.

***

The practice had finally ended. Everyone was busy collecting their stuff, impatient to go home as soon as possible. Shou and Hiroto excused themselves, waving their hands at Nao, Saga, and Tora. Except Tora, the others waved back at them. Nao had also finished collecting his stuff. He turned around and found Saga who was nervously waiting for Tora. He knew Saga wanted to talk to Tora privately. That was why he walked towards the door, talking to Saga and Tora.

“Guys, I’m leaving. See you tomorrow.”

With that, Nao left the practice room. Now that Saga and Tora were alone, Saga tried to talk to the guitarist again.

“... Tora.”

Tora didn’t answer him. He zipped his guitar case up, put his jacket on, and now was ready to leave. Saga was surprised when Tora walked past him, not even looking at him.

“Tora!”

Tora stopped. He turned around and for the first time this day, he stared at Saga.

“Do you want to talk?”
“I...Mm, I...Yes, I want to talk to you,” Saga stuttered.
“Then, come with me.”
“Ah?”

Tora turned around again and continued walking towards the door. Behind him, Saga was confused, but the bassist followed him nonetheless. Saga realised that Tora was leading him to the rooftop of PS Company building when they started taking the staircase. He mentally asked himself why Tora led him here. However, he couldn’t find any answers.

Soon, they reached the rooftop. Tora opened the door for them, entering the quite large open space. As they arrived, Saga noticed that Reita and Uruha were already there first. His eyes widened in surprise seeing the two standing there, waiting for them.

“So, everyone’s come.”

Tora said as soon as he arrived in front of Reita and Uruha. Saga felt uncomfortable when he chose to stand next to Tora, facing the two of the GazettE’s members. He kept his head bowed down, listening to every single word that slipped from Tora’s lips.

“I’ve been thinking all night about this. I have found a way out of our problem and I want all of us to agree with this.”
“What are you trying to say, Tora?” Reita asked.
“I’ll try to be honest then,” Tora answered.

Reita was still looking at him. Beside him, Uruha bit his lip as he sometimes cast a glance at Saga worriedly. Tora took a deep breath before he spoke again.

“... I’m so sorry about everything. I’ve hurt too many people. I was being selfish in all this time. Lying to everyone, even to myself. How saddening. But...it was because of him.”

Then, Tora turned to face Saga. Saga looked up at him with a questioning look on his face. Tora continued speaking.

“I love him so much. Too much, I think. My love for him has made me blind. It controlled me until I couldn’t even control myself. It’s not good, I know that. But I can’t kill this feeling. If only I could, I wanted to keep this feeling forever in my heart. Yes, I will love him forever, no matter what happens.”

Subconsciously, Saga was being absorbed by Tora’s confession. The gaze he gave to Tora was the saddest, yet full of love gaze Tora had ever seen. On the other hand, Reita had never expected Tora to say something like that. Beside him, Uruha had been crying soundlessly. Reita had no idea why he was crying, though. Then, Tora talked again. He looked at Reita.

“Today, all problems between the four of us must be solved. I don’t know if you two would agree with this or not, though.”

Reita knew Tora was talking about him and Uruha. The tall guitarist shifted his gaze to Saga after that.

“But I want you to decide, Saga.”
“... Tora.”
“No, listen to me first.”

Saga slowly nodded. Then, Tora suddenly handed his guitar case to Saga. Feeling confused, Saga accepted the guitar case and held it tightly.

“I’ll give you two options. First, if you didn’t want to choose me, you’d just throw my guitar away, break it or whatever. I don’t care.”

Not only Saga, but also Reita and Uruha were so shocked hearing Tora’s words. They all knew what that guitar meant to Tora. Nevertheless, Tora ignored it and continued speaking.

“Second, if you wanted to choose me... Please, give it back to me. You know how much I love this guitar. But it’s not as much as I love you. I know it sounds selfish. But, is it wrong if I want both of my guitar and you to be mine again?”

No one spoke up after that. Saga was still holding Tora’s guitar. Seconds later, Tora broke the silence.

“I’ll be waiting for your answer, Saga.”

With that, Tora left the rooftop. Saga could only stare at his leaving with a sad expression on his face.

I can feel your heartbeats, loving me. Please, let me be your last choice.

Saga wanted to run and chase Tora. However, his feet didn’t want to move. As Tora disappeared, he felt weak on his knees. Saga fell onto the ground, holding Tora’s guitar even tighter. Reita and Uruha approached him, looking worried.

“Saga...”

Saga was crying. How many times he wiped the tears away, they kept coming out from his beautiful eyes. Uruha could understand Saga’s feeling right now. As the matter of fact, Tora’s options didn’t look difficult to be chosen. Nevertheless, Uruha could tell that it was hard for Saga to decide one of those options, even though Uruha knew Saga must choose the second option because he loved Tora. Reita followed Uruha, kneeling down in front of Saga. He tried to calm the other bassist down.

“Saga, stop crying please.”
“Why...Why is it so hard?”
“You can do this, Saga,” Reita replied.
“What should I do, Reita?”
“You know the answer.”
“But...What about you?”

Reita lifted his hand up, wiping the tears away from Saga’s face. He stared deeply at the other blonde. Saga was still sobbing when Reita raised his pinkie finger and asked Saga to do the same. Uruha watched them in silence. In front of him, Reita and Saga were looking at their pinkie fingers.

“Can you see it, Saga?”
“... What are you talking about, Reita?”
“There’s no longer a red thread between us. Do you know what that means?”

Saga shook his head.

“That means our relationship is over. Now, the red thread in your pinkie finger is attached to someone else. Can you see whom it is attached to?”

It was stupid. Saga knew that. However, he closed his eyes for a while and when he opened them again, he could see or rather imagine that the red thread in his pinkie finger was so long until it reached the rooftop door, continuing even further to the outside of the rooftop. He almost cried again, when he understood what that meant.

“Now, will you reach your love back, Saga?”

Without waiting for so long, Reita got his answer. Saga hurriedly stood up.

“Reita, Uruha-san...”

Reita and Uruha also stood up. They waited for Saga to speak again.

“... I don’t know what I could do if you two didn’t help and support me. Thank you so much.”
“I’m glad we can help you, Saga,” Reita replied.

Saga smiled widely as he finally left the rooftop, too. Reita and Saga watched him leaving the rooftop in silence.

When time brings love, I decide to choose YOU!

***

Tora didn’t know how long it had been since he left the rooftop. After he left that place, he hurriedly got on his car and drove away from PS Company building. Now, his car was parked at a not so crowded road. Tora leant back, trying to make himself feel more relaxed. He closed his eyes, enjoying the chilly wind. Then, he felt something on the back of his hand, which was resting on the steering wheel. He opened his eyes and found that there was a beautiful butterfly resting on his hand. Tora stared at that butterfly for the next minutes until finally, it flew away. Tora’s gaze followed the butterfly, flying higher up to the sky.

Butterfly... Fly away so high. As high as hopes I pray, to come and reach for you.

Then, vaguely Tora heard someone call his name. The voice was getting closer to him. Tora looked at the rear view mirror and found that Saga was running towards his car.

“Saga.”

Saga stopped running, he looked exhausted. Quickly, Tora got off from his car. He saw Saga continue running. Tora noticed that Saga was bringing his guitar with him. Soon, Saga arrived in front of him. The bassist panted heavily, yet he was still trying to talk.

“To-...ra.”
“Take a deep breath first.”

Saga did as he was told. Somehow, Tora wanted to laugh seeing the sight in front of him, but suddenly, Saga spoke up.

“Daikirai!”
“Eh?”
“You made me run so far! I’m really tired, do you know that?!”

Saga pouted at him. Then, the bassist handed Tora’s guitar case back to him. Before Tora could think further about what saga was doing to him, the bassist had already thrown himself onto Tora’s body. Tora instantly wrapped his arms around Saga.

“Saga?”
“Don’t ever leave me again, Tora. I can’t live without you.”

Saga hugged him tighter. Tora brought his hands up to Saga’s head. He cupped the bassist’s face, leaning down to him. Saga closed his eyes and let Tora kiss him. Saga always liked the feeling when Tora kissed him gently like this. He pulled back when he felt his tears threaten to fall again. Tora looked confused at him. He saw Saga wipe the tears again.

“Why are you crying?”
“Nah...I’m just...happy. I finally found my love.”

Saga laughed a bit that made Tora also laugh. Tora lifted his hand to wipe Saga’s tears and then brought his lips down to Saga’s again. This time, Saga responded to his kiss eagerly.

***

On the rooftop...

Reita turned around just to see Uruha who was staring at his pinkie finger. He smiled a bit and talked to the guitarist.

“What are you thinking of, Shima?”
“Akira...I wonder if...If there’s a red thread between us.”
“Why don’t you see it yourself?”

Uruha tilted his head a bit, staring at Reita’s back. The bassist was walking towards the rooftop door. Reita’s right hand was shoved inside his jeans pocket and he had the left one waving back and forth, as he walked. Uruha looked at Reita’s left hand thoroughly and he smiled widely when he saw a red thread in Reita’s pinkie finger and it was attached to his.

Reita stopped walking. He turned around and said, “Let’s go, Shima.”

Uruha nodded in enthusiasm at him. His smile was still on his face. He took Reita’s left hand that had been offered to him and held it tightly. Reita smiled back at him and then, they left the rooftop together, hand-in-hand.
