After his conversation with Sasha Mortimer visited the Universal Library and looked up some plans for water-tight heating elements. He made some notes and copies and took them over to the_nexus_mall.
He looked through a couple different hardware and electronics stores before finding everything he needed, then he bundled it all together and carried it back to Sasha's house.
He entered the basement carefully, glad that Casey and Ali seemed to be occupied or away. The puppy might be smart enough to keep secrets, but Mortimer had no way to ask him to keep something to himself. He took everything up to a temporary workspace he'd set up in the second floor of the garage and set to work on The Biggest Double Boiler Known to Man. Well, probably not really, but it sounded neat in his head.
