The good:

- X-post from FB:  iowalaw  sent me a package that arrived today. It had a blanket that I left at her house when she so graciously let me stay there during ChiMoot. I was so happy to get it! It's not a fancy blanket, but I love it anyway. :) Plus, it had extras! There were five of the most perfect little notes tucked into the folds of the blanket. They were emblazoned with colorful words that made me heart swell with happy. As I lifted the blanket out of the box, they all fell out onto me. What did they say?
  • "We all miss you!"
  • "Getting to finally meet you was one of my favorite parts of the ChiMoot!"
  • "I wish you lived closer so we could hang out! ~Chi~"
  • "You are awesome! (and don't forget it!)"
  • "Virtual long distance hug --> ((((you))))"
I haven't felt this loved since... well... ChiMoot! Thank you so much, Ms. Chi. You made my heart feel full. :)
(Chi, I hope this doesn't embarrass the poo out of you. But, I HAD to stand witness to your awesomeness! You truly are a kick butt friend! MWAH!)

- Tonight, I get to go to a local friend's house and help her hang her new curtains and fix up her living room. I realize this sounds boring and mundane to most, but I'm crazy excited about it! She is such a cool person to spend time with! I get to leave the house! Without my husband or kids! And there will be wine involved! Plus, she trusts my design instincts. She LOVES my house. She thinks I have good taste. And as pathetic as it might sound, it makes me feel like one of the cool kids. She has lots of other friends that could come over and help, but she asked lil' ol' me. And because real life friending is hard for me, it makes me super happy! :)

The not-so-good:

- I've been trying to get rid of a migraine all day. This one isn't as severe as my usual (thank goodness!), but it still stinks.

- I'm happy for all the work that's been in my email box as of late. It's definitely helping with our bottom line! However, I need a break. I'm trying so hard to find the happy in my job, and it eludes me. But, I'm going to keep on looking and focusing on the money that it all brings. I'm very lucky to be able to work from home AND be a full time stay at home mom. It's a lot on my plate, but I know a lot of women that will kill for this gig. So, counting my blessings and trying NOT to think about the fact that it's hard to never, EVER leave work behind.

Off I go to shower and get cute-ish for this evening! Should be fun!
