My truck got stuck on ice three times yesterday right in front of our house. It frustrated me majorly.
However, someone at Superstore did a random act of kindness for me and helped me get my grocery cart through a big stack of snow and ice to my truck. I was very appreciative of that, and now I want to pass it on. Also, there's a community on livejournal that's being featured right now called (Edit: Correction)payingitforward, and someone wrote a post about a family they knew (single dad, two teenage children) who was in desperate need of help to get christmas presents for his kids and because they were teens no charity would help them, and several people responded asking for their tastes in movies/cds/books (easily shipped things) and an address to ship them to. That just gave me the warm fuzzies that complete strangers could hear of a family in need and be so eager to help.
I went to my therapy appointment this morning, and arrived 15 minutes early. I saw my therapist as I was walking from the parking lot (she was walking in the building too) and said 'hi'. I went to the bathroom and then the waiting room, checked in at reception, and proceeded to wait 45 minutes (15 minutes before the appointed time, and 30 minutes after the appointed time). I eventually got fed up and left. What kind of professional makes their first appointment of the day wait more than half an hour, of only an hour (if that) appointment? Argh! I mean, if it was a doctor's appointment midday, maybe, but not a therapist, and not the first appointment of the day. So, I went and picked up a sold sign of my mom's, and went to my psychiatrist's office to pick up my medication. After much phoning and snooping on the friendly receptionist's part, she found my 3 month's supply. I was appreciative that she took the time to help me.
Now I'm back home, and my schedule includes some major snow removal in the front, dog-waste removal in the back, and posting some very amusing pictures for my livejournal friends. I think I'll do some of the physical labour first, and do the pictures when I'm good and tired.
Also, I went to the post office yesterday so everyone's letters are on their way! It's not too late if you want to leave your address in my last entry, I can still send you one :) Local and International friends all welcome :)

pay it forward, christmas cards, therapy
