Jinx knew nothing about the birthday party, although she did recall seeing some fliers floating around the city earlier. What attracted her were the flashing, colourful lights, and loud music. Seeing people walking in and out freely, she headed inside herself, looking around.
"Oooh... a bar," she said, noticing it out of the corner of her eye.
Blackfire floated over, having a keen eye for who was new, and who she'd already greeted. A number of people had shown up from the Nexus already, so she assumed that Jinx had found out about it that way, or seen one of the fliers put out in the streets.
"Hi!" she greeted. "Thanks for coming to my birthday party! I'm the birthday girl and hostess, Blackfire. And you are?"
Birthday, what? So there would be booze and cake? She turned around to see the hostess, and... stared for a moment, before grinning a bit.
"Wow, Blackfire, really? Y'know, you might hear this a lot, or it could just be a Nexus-alt thing, but you look almost exactly like this other girl I know named Starfire," she said, crossing her arms, kind of amused at the coincidence. "Anyways, happy birthday. And I'm Jinx."
"Oh, well that would make sense. You really do almost look like twins," she said, and smirked a little. "You definately seem to have a cooler vibe than her. And you don't strike me as the hero type." Then again, maybe it was the outfit.
Blackfire let out a laugh at the 'hero' comment. "Nope. Definitely not a superhero. I'm way too much of a rebel for that kind of thing. I limit my do-gooding to a few times a year maximum."
"More than I do," Jinx laughs. "Your sister and I originally met since I'm on the opposite of the hero side, but we've managed to talk and be civil with each other a few times. I still like Terra better though," she says, not really aware that Blackfire and Terra are friends as well.
Blackfire grinned at that. "Terra's one of my good friends, actually. Probably the only hero I can say I'm honest to goodness buddy-buddy with, as opposed to just on civil terms with."
"Oh, you know her too?" Jinx asked. Well, this was one girl she could certainly get along with. "I hear you there. Can't say I'm real close with any other heroes." Aquainted with maybe, but Terra was probably her closest hero-friend. "Can't say I've really seen or heard of you on the opposite side, though. Keeping your nose clean, or just do a good job of covering your tracks?" she asks with a grin.
She gives her a playful smirk, saying "Oh please, who am I going to tell?" Jinx teases. Nonetheless, she doesn't push the question. "So how old are you, birthday girl?"
"Just turned eighteen," said Blackfire cheerfully. "Which means I'm old enough to vote and buy porn in this country."
Resting her hand on her chin, she thought about something for a few seconds.
"You know, it's odd. On Tamaran, you can drink legally before you can do either of those things. And Tamaranean rum is way stronger than anything here. Well, different cultures, different priorities and values, I guess."
"Oooh... a bar," she said, noticing it out of the corner of her eye.
