Loki walked into the room, looking around. Alright, so he'd never met the person who was turning...how old was it? 17? 12? 32? He didn't care. The point was, it was a party, and party meant fools to trick people to meet, food to eat, all sorts of fun.
"God of mischief, huh?" said Blackfire with a big grin. "Seems like we'll get along just fine. Well, as long as I'm not a prank victim on my own birthday."
Batman showed up, looking around at the place with a general nod of approval. Seemed like this lady had everything covered, all that was left now was to hope he could find a few people to hang out with.
Blackfire grinned. "I did, but I've been sort of behaving myself lately. One of my friends is a Titan, but given that she helped someone take over the city years ago, she's not really in a position to hold my past against me."
She took the fern with a smile. "Are there any particular instructions for taking care of this plant, or will regular water and sunlight do the job? And thanks."
When Terra realized that she was going to be attending this party, she decided hell, she'd look the part. She did like the way she was dressed when she was under that LOL, after all.
So Blackfire might have been surprised to see her back in a denim jacket and ripped blue jeans. But whatever, it was cool. It's a party. (And besides, if it didn't fly, she still had a normal shirt on underneath.) Probably the more notable thing, though, would have been the small, bottle-shaped brown paper bag that was sticking out of her jacket.
Terra got a friendlier than usual greeting from Blackfire, in the form of the dark haired Tamaranean making a bee-line for her and giving her friend a hug (though not one with the force that Starfire typically used). Granted, the two drinks she'd had thus far might have had something to do with that.
"Terra! Glad you came!" she greeted. "Feel free to mingle. I've got a pretty good assortment of people here so far."
"Oh, hey, don't think I won't," Terra said back with a little laugh, glad to see Blackfire still being herself. "I couldn't think of any good presents, 'cause I suck at that, so I figured hey, 18 is legal for this in some places." With that, she fully exposed the bag she had, though keeping the bottle in it.
"Oooh, you bad girl!" said Blackfire, putting on a mock scandalized face. "May I just say that I'm proud to have corrupted you into the way of the party girl?"
Jinx knew nothing about the birthday party, although she did recall seeing some fliers floating around the city earlier. What attracted her were the flashing, colourful lights, and loud music. Seeing people walking in and out freely, she headed inside herself, looking around.
"Oooh... a bar," she said, noticing it out of the corner of her eye.
Blackfire floated over, having a keen eye for who was new, and who she'd already greeted. A number of people had shown up from the Nexus already, so she assumed that Jinx had found out about it that way, or seen one of the fliers put out in the streets.
"Hi!" she greeted. "Thanks for coming to my birthday party! I'm the birthday girl and hostess, Blackfire. And you are?"
Birthday, what? So there would be booze and cake? She turned around to see the hostess, and... stared for a moment, before grinning a bit.
"Wow, Blackfire, really? Y'know, you might hear this a lot, or it could just be a Nexus-alt thing, but you look almost exactly like this other girl I know named Starfire," she said, crossing her arms, kind of amused at the coincidence. "Anyways, happy birthday. And I'm Jinx."
