Ryutaro - Duet March 2011

[Friendship] When I'm with my friends, I don't feel sad, or that I'm in pain or anything like that at all. We joke around noisily, talk, and it feels like we're always laughing when we're together. Everyone just goes in and disrupts everything while we're watching a variety show on TV and when I suggested it, everyone got into baseball so then we would play catch. We also go watch games a lot. Until then, we were people who would just play games or watch TV and don't go out that much but we have changed from that.

[Effort] I did my best in dancing ever since I became a Jr. but I feel like that wasn't effort because it's still like that right now but I usually do it in a fun way so I can't sense that I'm exerting effort at all. So that's why the thing I exerted most effort in was Karate which I started on from when I was around 3 years old, and continued up until I entered as a Jr. It was really hard training at any rate. My dad was a Dojo leader/mentor so he was much stricter to me and Shintaro compared to when he taught other kids and so there were lots of times when we overtimed practices. I would also appear as a representative in the dojo Kantou tournament but I did that reluctantly. I would practice every week on sundays from the afternoon till night so it overlapped with the anime I wanted to watch so I couldn't help but want to go home right away even more (laughs). Even so, I was able to attain a black belt at the end so I think I exerted effort in that one.

[Victory] I think that maybe it's because I took Karate but I hate losing. Recently, my friend entered dance school and when I came to watch him, he was really good at it. I got fired up like "I can't lose." The person I want to win to in JUMP is Hikaru-kun. That's because I don't want to lose only to Hikaru-kun when it comes to any kind of competition (laughs). Even when it comes to quarrels, I would answer back with twice of the amount of stuff he would tell me. Also, I have never lost to Yama-chan who entered at the same time as me either. I actually may be losing but I don't think that way at all (laughs). During a competition, I have only the image of winning. I can't allow a sweet thought like "it's okay to lose."
