SERIOUSLY. Like, Mizuno going to Sakura Jousui is no longer an act of rebellion but a necessity (he just doesn't have what it takes to make it at Musashi no Mori), and he sticks with the soccer club only because he hopes to earn his father's approval one day. Then he meets Shou, who helps him to see that he can play soccer because he WANTS to, and-- *gets bricked*

And darnit, the scenario works.

He's also slightly jealous of his best friend, Shige, who is simply naturally talented and has no love for the sport... Shige quits to keep Mizuno company, complaining that he's lost interest and Mizuno isn't sure what to think...
