Holy air conditioning, Batman! It is nice to be back on US soil. I got in late last night. And then I slept in. And then I went to yoga and felt like I was going to die, but I think I sweat out most of the residual DEET. And then, yes, I went to get a pedicure. That nice lady spent most of the time scraping cement out from under my toenails ( Read more... )

Vampire sex has been particularly disturbing this season. Like maybe a 12 on the 1-10 scale. =_=

I know. And I dig it. The books are fluffy and light and, yeah, there's a lot of death and sex but it's sort of...all in good fun?

I love that HBO has made the adaptation much darker and twistier. Bring on the hate sex!

Well...it's good that someone's enjoying it, I guess. That's what I thought too before this season. For me this season is full of so much fail on so many levels, it's kind of shocking.

Welcome back!

I'm 2 eps behind on True Blood. But the vampire sex I've seen so far is very disturbing.

Tarantula's, dead or alive, are mega scary. Eeeeek! My niece is going thru a similar trauma with the bugs in Africa. *pets both of you*

Um, if you're two episodes back, you're about to see the most disturbing vampire sex ever. (I covered my eyes for parts of it, but then I totally rewound and watched it with unmitigated horror-glee.)

Tell your niece I empathize! How is she adjusting? I can't remember where she is, unfortunately. Memory!fail.

She's in The Gambia, Africa, doing the Peace Corp dance. She's adjusting well, learning the language and all that. She's staying with a family right now as part of her training.

She said she was doing okay until she heard a sound in the night. She turned on her flashlight and saw HUGE bugs scurrying around. Yikes! I don't think she's slept all week.

Thank you! I walked into my parents' house and went "JESUS IT'S FREEZING" and it was 65 degrees. Related: American Airlines now charges for blankets. Seriously.

Welcome home! :)

Concrete under you nails? Ack!

It's good to be back! I missed the creature comforts dearly.

Concrete under the nails is disgusting, but not as distressing as finding clumps of it in your hair. Luckily, though, they cut it with lots of sand, so it washes out well.

Heeeee! I guess under the nails seems more horrible to me - all crammed in there and lifting the nail up....
*flails*

I have *issues*.
*cough*
