1. STAR TREK: TNG: A friend of mine send me the link to this site. There are loads of behind the scenes pix from Star Trek-TNG, my first sci-fi love. I hadn't ever seen those before. They look like such a happy family. I miss that show :)

2. BOOKS: So I just finished Khaled Hosseini's "A Thousand Splendid Suns." Wow, what a moving and powerful book ( Read more... )

Re: Castle fic... Sadly, I have no new recs besides the ones I have already raved about in the past. But I do have advice, I find it best to avoid anything labeled "Caskett."

Oooookayyy, I'll heed the advice. What exactly is "Caskett" supposed to be though? I'd have thought it's simply a Castle/Beckett ship story, no?

Well, I suppose it’s a bit of a stereotype, so it doesn’t always apply. But I have seen this phenomenon of combining the two names of a popular ship into one cutesy term in many, many fandoms. It seems like the authors who write really high-quality, very true to character, interesting fic aren’t the ones who need to resort to the cutesy terms to get people to read their fic. *shug* Just an observation I’ve made.

By the way, did you ever see this post? Hilarious!

Yeah, you're right. You can often judge the quality of the fic just by reading its "introductions." I've noticed it with S/J so I'm sure it's true in other fandoms as well.

Bwahaha!! That is hilarious! Had to bookmark it. Actually laughing tears here :D
