Mercy Mercedes
For a while now I've been raving about this local band of boys called Mercy Mercedes. Not only are they talented and dedicated, but they have quite the sense of humor going for them.
All around, they are just good guys and always keep in touch. They wrote kind of an anthem song about doing what they do and the fans and stuff and they sent me a message saying that they were dedicating the song to me. I messaged them back and told them that I thought that was really sweet of them, but I am sure they said that to all of their fans...they assured me that they didn't. Whether they do or not...it still impressed me.
Well, they had a poll on their MySpace page as to what their t-shirt design should look like and I voted on this pretty blue one, mostly because it was blue. haha. The other designs were cool...one was funny and one looked vintage...all good designs. It turns out...the one I voted for got the most votes, so then I just had to wait for them to get them made and all that jazz.
Finally the day came and boy was I excited! They had been advertising them for quite a while and all these little girls were raving about being their biggest fans and that they couldn't wait to get their shirts, so I was really anticipating that they would go fast.
I ordered my shirt and patiently waited for it. I happened to be completely exhausted the day that it arrived, but I mustered enough energy to hop up and down a bit. Candi and I walked all the way from the mailbox before SHE noticed that there was writing on the envelope. She asked, "You were the first order?"
Confused, I looked down and there on the back the guys had all signed it!!!!
Bless their hearts! I had no idea that I'd been the first to order a shirt...and in complete and utter Mercy Mercedes style, they also included one teabag: Twinings English Spiced Holiday Tea. hahaha
When I wrote to them to thank them for their signing my envelope and for the tea, they responded that they were thrilled I liked the tea and that they thought I deserved something extra special. I just love these guys!!
