It's aliiiiiiiiiiiiiive!!!
Hey all...just wanted to send a quick note out to ya'll. Candi and I made it safe and sound to Georgia and have been busting our asses from daylight to past dark trying to get things in order. Most of the hard work that we've had to put in came not from unpacking, but from cleaning. The lady who lived here before sucked big fat moose balls when it came to cleaning.
So...not only did Candi and I spend at least 2 solid days cleaning the apartments we left, we had to basically scrub the rooms here from top to bottom before we could put our stuff in them. She also left things behind like a robe hanging in the closet and misc items in the kitchen. I think knowing how hard I worked to make sure that my apartment was nice and shiny for the next person, it just really frustrated me to no end to see the condition of this place as far as cleanliness goes.
BUT...like I said...Candi and I have been working our fingers to the bone and now things are shaping up and the windows are sparkling and we are vanquishing all remnants of the woman who lived here before and making this place ours. I think it still hasn't really hit me that I live here because I don't have a desk yet and because we've been doing so much work around here that we haven't really been able to just sit and enjoy the house.
Although yesterday our neighbor from across the street came over and introduced himself, welcomed us, and said that if we needed anything to let him and his wife know. I thought that was very sweet of him.
We still have a lot of work to do...with the house...and with getting settled, but it will all fall into place. I know it will, because this is right. I can feel it.
