...was it only a dream??
I had such a great time at the beach guys...seriously. I honestly believe that it was the complete simplicity of the trip. Candi and I both vowed that we were just going to sit around and do nothing...and well...that's basically what we did.
We took walks on the beach at night and went to Margaritaville a couple of times, which I thought was great! There was a live band there called "The Necessary Brothers" and I was highly entertained by them!! They did covers, but they were fun to watch...it was cool because we were right up front.
Also, the first night, our waiter was this cutie named Keath. Don't you love that spelling?? He was just a wonderful, wonderful waiter!! Also, the guy who was the host looked just like Shea from Ingram Hill! It was AMAZING!!!!!
The second time we went...the band was back (squee for me), however we had a waiter named Nick who left a LOT to be desired. *rolls eyes. He wasn't very nice and almost made Candi cry. *scowls Anywho...it got to the point that when it was time to leave, all I wrote on the survey was "We heart Keath." -- Who also BY THE WAY...saw us, remembered us...and came over to say hello that second night! I was so excited to see him that I waved like a fangirl! *hangs head
Naturally there was some good eating involved while we were there, but mostly I relished the days. We took our beach towels and our backpacks and literally sat on the beach and read ALL DAY!! I read one of the best romance novels ever called "When Strangers Marry" by Lisa Kleypass. *le sigh
It was wonderful wonderful wonderful...in fact, when I got home, I bought the sequel (Only With Your Love) and got just as wrapped up in it and it was for the most part, equally good!
I also read one of Nicholas Sparks' books, "True Believer." It was a typical Nick Sparks book, except for one thing...I laughed most of the way through. I am sure I got on Candi's nerves a couple of times laughing, but I couldn't help it. So, I started the next one "At First Sight", which comes afterwards. Yep...there he was...the Nick I know and love. When I finished that book, it was 3am because I couldn't stop reading it and I was sobbing my guts out. Ahhh...good stuff. haha
Another cool thing about being at the beach...the second day when we were out reading, I heard some commotion and looked up to see what was going on. There were DOLPHINS swimming right where we were!!!!! I can't even tell you how wonderfully exciting that was!!!! Candi and I abandoned our books and headed down to the water's edge for a better look. It was awesome...I still can't even believe that it happened!!!
Also...I just loved the little guy at the front desk. Bless his heart...he was just nice, sweet, and a cutie. So, when I got back home, I went to the website and left a little note about him and the level of customer service he provided. I got a note back a few days later telling me that his name is Billy and that my email would be put in his file and that he was going to be commended. That made me feel good! WHEEEE!!!
So that was my reprieve and though it doesn't seem like much of a story to tell...it did wonders for my homework weary mind and for my heart as well. It was wonderful to just sit on the beach and listen to the ocean all day and lose myself in a book.
I wasn't ready to come home...and wasn't ready to be thrust back into the homework that I left there to wait for my return...but I made it and I still wish I was there sometimes, but honestly I don't think it's just that I want to be there...I just want to be somewhere. You know...a change of pace. *shrugs
Anywho...I have to work in the morning and I am actually calm and feeling sleepy, so I am going to get going, but I love you guys and will talk to you soon! Take care!! *huge huge huggles...T
