So I know these guys, they are friends of Kevin, and they are putting together a comic book and have asked for my help with costumes. No money in it right now, and it is still all in the test phases, but it is lots of fun! I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it, I just remember all of the tedious sewing. So last night I was going to town on a dress and coat with my seam ripper, putting off the actual sewing for as long as I could, when finally I actually sat down at my sewing machine and began. And it was actually enjoyable. The most freeing thing is that I can be sloppy in my sewing because for these particular costumes, no one is going to be seeing them up close which makes my job easier and a lot more fun. So what if the seams don't match up! I love it! It reminds me of when I volunteered to work on Grease the musical community production and their motto was "if you can't notice the mistakes from 20 feet away, it's perfect!" So of course I have left all of these things to the last minute because if it wasn't for the last minute nothing would ever get done! Deadline is Sunday. No problem.
