Last night at Bethany College

Dec 19, 2004 01:33

I woke up this morning at 7:10 to get up for my final at 8am (yes, on Saturday morning).. made it to my final on time (i'm not a morning person) and was nervous as hell. I dont test well under pressure like knowing I could kill my grade with one wrong move. heh. Anyway, we get the test and it's easy. I was so nervous about nothing. Came back to my room.. checked to see if Debbie was awake.. then came to bed.

Slept until almost 12.. Got up, showered and then went to help Holly set up for the dinner. It was so cool to wrap presents for people who deserved them and lost everything. The dinner turned out to be a total hit. Nothing like the feeling you get when you do something for someone in need. AHH!! I love it. It feels so good to help someone.

Packed up all of my stuff to move home for an entire month. I dont really know how to live at home, so this should be quite interesting. I have a lot of shit I dont plan on bringing back to college. I'm switching rooms when i move back here. New roomie. I can't wait. I cant take the shit my roommate dishes out without meaning it. She's just careless..

I survived first semester. I feel so good about only having 7 more until law school. I'm really excited. I feel like I've grown a lot as a person here at Bethany. I know who I am and what I want out of life.. for right now. I'm much more confident and a stronger person. I don't take people's shit anymore and I know who I can trust. I dont feel used by the people I call my friends, and they do me favors. I can count on my friends to take care of me when i'm sick or drunk.. and I know I'll wake up in the morning safe and feeling better. I experienced a lot of things that some kids never experience. I met famous people. I helped put on Christmas for people who lost their homes. I lived without cell phone service AND cable. I learned to read the newspaper daily. I learned that laundry doesn't have to be done daily.. but your ass better venture down to the basement at least weekly. I learned that you need at least one shitty coat that is your "bar coat." I learned that girls can drink beer and it usually impresses the guy .. If you tip bar tenders, they treat you well. Community showers aren't that bad. The kids you talk to in high school aren't the ones you'll talk to in college. The kids you didn't talk to in high school are the ones you meet up again with in college. Late night pizza is awesome. Roman noodles make meals. Easy mac isn't just for a first grader. Popcorn works wonders for the munchies. Immature people still go to college and so do stupid people. Packing to move home sucks. Broadband connections in college aren't fast -- they're slower than dial up. College fucking rocks.

Alright. I need to call this a night so I can wake up before noon and get the hell out of this town.. and back to Wheeling. heh.
