Enjoying The Black Parade is Dead!

The video is making me smile.  Unfortunately, whenever I feel like watching it, my parents are around.  The thing is just not meant to be turned down.  Some cool things I've noticed:

This is the first time I've seen James Dewees perform with the band.  Why didn't I notice him in Chicago?  Most likely because I was too busy worrying about being crushed and/or had my eyes on Toro the whole time.  Yar, it was both.  He looks older than the rest of the guys.  Not like he looks "out of place" or whatever, like people are bitching, just a bit older.  They had a gong during "Mama" in Mexico.  I don't remember hearing that in the recording.  (I'll have to listen to it again.  Oh, hardship.)

Somebody in the Hitmen wanted to know whether Gee spoke any Spanish in Mexico.  It's hard to hear, but he did, indeed.  Blink and you miss it.  In the middle of "Sharpest Lives", he says either "vamos" (let's go) or "manos" (hands, as in put your hands together, etc.), it's hard to tell, but either would be appropriate.  He says it again in another song, "Sleep", I think. edit: it was "Cancer," right before the second verse.

Speaking of "Sleep", in Mexico, look at Frank's guitar whenever they show it.  Watch carefully.  Under the neck of the guitar, right above, or maybe over the top of the first pickup, is a piece of masking tape that has FTW written on it. LOL!

Speaking of Frank, he seems a bit more static in Mexico than usual.  Probably because, as The Black Parade they act a little different.  He really likes to run the pick up the strings, though.  I caught him doing it at least twice.  In Jersey, he has to be fairly still because there's nowhere for him to fuckin' move!

Bob has a rotating drum riser in Mexico.  Like Rick Allen from Def Lep in their heyday!  LOL.  I wonder if Gerard ever threatened to spin it so fast that Bob would fly off into the stands, hee, hee.  (Joe from Def Leppard threatened to do that to Rick back in the day.  I just saw it on youtube.)

Actually, the whole video kind of reminded me of Def Lep's "In the Round, In Your Face" vid from '89, Especially the Mexico bit.  It was almost as well-filmed.  Though the fire spouts reminded me of Lep's 83 video for "Foolin'" & the Pyromania tour.  There were sparklies during, what, "Teenagers", "Disenchanted"?  Somewhere near the end.  Bon Jovi used those during the video for "Livin' on a Prayer".   I consider this kind of a tribute to bands that have gone before, not a rip off.  I'm not complaing at all, it's nice to see.  I always knew there was something "old school rock" about MCR.  (Though neither DL or BJ ever used confetti.  And anyone who has probably never used so much of it.  Wow, guys.)

I never knew Mikey used in-ear mics.  It seems to me bassists always have some kind of headset on.  Anyone know why?

"Stay".  OMG.  that is all.

And finally, my bit of pervy fangirling:  Jeeeeebus!  Who in hell painted on Toro's jeans before the Mexico concert?  They fit tighter than his skin, honestly!  Uuuuungh!  I wish I could have been seated comfortably somewhere for that concert.  I bet his ass looked fantastic.  You see, on TV people tend to look flat.  That's why a lot of people say that celebrities are better looking in person.  You're just able to percieve where they stand in space much better.  From the few glimpses I've seen of Toro and his backside in Chicago . . . well, you have to see that ass in person to fully appreciate it.  I also found out that night why fangirls squee about Toro's thighs.  For all my fandom, I'd always thought, "jeez, dude, they're just thighs".  Umm, proven wrong.  Oh, and Gerard is not fat or chubby, from the "seeing in person thing".  He does, however, have a little junk in the trunk, if you get my drift.  (Ha-ha, Ghetto Booty, as we used to say.)  It's not like I spent the whole concert looking at butts, but those two were hard not to notice.
