As i have just finished submitting all of my essays in livejournal, there are some things i want to say as i leave this class.
For starters, this was a great class to take, and i would reccomend it to anyone. It was not what i thought it was, and i was completley nervous about this class when i first started. WRiting usually comes fairly easy to me, but the thought of "advanced composition" scares me.
I loved how we used MLA citation in this class, as history is my major, and Chicago foot notes take up a lot more time than MLA.
I found the most challenging part to this class was the very end, in revising my essays.
I am the type of person who does it right the first time and puts my all into my papers. After reading comments from my classmates, i took their suggestions and added them into my paper as i felt needed. Most of the time, i used every suggestion. I found this difficult in the revising stage of the class, as i felt that i had already revised my essay once before i submitted it into writely.
IT was a challenge for me to use writely in this class as i have never used a program like this before. Even though i went to the orientation at the beginning of hte semester, i found myself still confused at the beginning when posting my essay for the first time. I think in the future, a hand out or written posting by the instructor in the Disscussion forum would have been extra helpful.
OVerall, this was a great class, and i believe i am taking a lot of new writing skills to UVic in January. I'm nervous about this switch, as all of the instructors at Camosun have been so incredibly helpful and nice when it comes to tests, essay's and just being there for support.
I wish everyone good luck in their future academic lives, and a special thanks to Debbie for introducing me to the world of Advanced Composition. For those of you who have seen the movie "Legally Blonde" with Reese Whitherspoon, at the end she says one final thing in retrospect to her graduating from law school....i think it's pertinent here:
"We did it!!!!!!!"
