There is just something about bad DVD/VHS covers
(Yes, yes "What is a VHS?", I know.)
But seriously. I know I should always expect them, that a good-looking DVD cover is a rare thing indeed, but it still never stops being funny. (Well, when it isn't tragic.)
Here's some pikachuashnat bait for old time's sake:
Region 2 version. Sadly this actually errs more on the side of "Hilarious" than "tragically bad" than the US DVD cover and it looks all for the world like a bootleg. (I dunno. Josee on the forums linked it from the French version of Amazon.com; apparently she gets nostalgic for the French dub she watched as a kid.)
I think the horrible Photoshopping, total disregard for proper proportions (YES ON A FICTIONAL ROBOT; FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DO NOT KNOW, I AM [SADLY] AN EXPERT ON THIS) the apparent reference to WALL-E (the part that kind of makes me think "bootleg?") are offset by the fact that it looks like he's going "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!" keeping it from being just tragic and ugly like the US cover. (Nah, it's just so bad it's funny!)
I still need to remake MEIN Take On Me icon. I'm not using the ~original~ I made for myself with J5 because it looks terrible in comparison to the new ones. If only I can remember how to draw him...
