Late to the party, or, That "Are You A Professional Writer?" nonsense

So, the idea that THIS is the ONLY WAY to be a professional writer has been pretty thoroughly debunked. Scalzi said it best: "Did you write something? Did you get paid for it? Congratulations, you're a professional writer!"

Nevertheless, I wanted to take a whack at these questions anyway, just to show you all my life.

You know my opinion. Utter BS. The idea that there's only one way to be a writer is as ludicrous as the idea that there's only one way to write. People who insist on either annoy and offend me both personally and professionally.

A vampire hunting kit in a vintage train case? Have I seen this? Am I aware of it and have merely forgotten? Are there pictures? OH MY GOD.

The vampire hunting kit is still in the Gathering Materials stages! I have two train cases (my plan is to make one for me and one for cupcake_goth. I have been saving spice jars. That flower arrangement my parents got me? Oh hell yes I'm hanging on to the florist tubes. I am CERTAIN they'll make good holy water vials. I may have the spare cash to pick up some thick dowels for sharpening soon. Et cetera.

There are other vampire hunting kits floating around the internet for inspiration. I have not yet decided on the final form of mine.

But they will be AWESOME.

I'm sort of in the gathering materials stage for one of my own, debating how fantastical to make it. Specimens and whatnot. And debating how authentic I want to try to be. (Do I want to try to find a period Bible? etc. Bake my own host wafers?)

They're VERY popular right now, and as far as I'm concerned, this is ALL to the good!

Ohhhh, if you have not yet seen the Amazon reviews for the packaged host wafers you need to go read those, because they are fantastic. I wasn't aware you could just BUY them, but apparently it's not an issue until they've been consecrated
