So, I'm doing that music meme that's been floating around, seen first by me courtesy of
buncha_cruncha. I guess the premise is that I upload 10 songs for y'all (I don't think I'll ever be comfortable using the word "y'all") and with a little bit of background as to why they are so special to me. So here goes...
1.
Shawn Hlookoff - She Could Be YouOne of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It's got such an old-time feel, and the lyrics are brilliant.
2.
Laura Marling - New RomanticI adore this girl's voice too much.
3.
The Hush Sound - HurricaneMelancholic but beautiful. I adore The Hush Sound's 'sound', with male and female vocals complimenting each other throughout their albums.
4.
Landon Pigg - Falling in Love at a Coffee ShopI've always wanted to fall in love at a coffee shop, so this song is sort of perfect, IMHO.
5.
M.I.A. - Bird FluEVERYONE NEEDS M.I.A. IN THEIR LIVES. This is my favourite song by her. She's rad.
6.
The Avett Brothers - If It's The BeachesI was obsessed with this song this year. The vocals are, oooh, so moving.
7.
Laura Marling - Tap At My WindowAnother Laura Marling song. I love that her singing reminds me so vividly of my own thoughts.
8.
The Hush Sound - Love You Much BetterGosh, the catchiness of this song overwhelms me that I physically start dancing the second it comes on.
9.
She & Him - Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?M. Ward's genius coupled with Zooey Deschanel's gorgeous voice. She & Him was thus born.
10.
Carrie Underwood - All-American GirlThis is my favourite country song, and trust me, I am not a fan of country at all. But this song spans decades, and I love it.
I love how much music moves me. Enjoy the tunes. :)
