I Can't Believe It!!!
A while ago I was couldn't BELIEVE what I just read. I came across lyrics to a song by Cam'ron, "Suck It Or Not". I was sooo disgusted!!! From my basic skim of the song, I gathered from it this: Cam'ron was basically telling some female to suck his penis. WHAT in the world has music come to? Music has come to this immoral garbage that people listen to and say, "Oh, das my jam!!!". I mean, really, am I the only one who listens to the words that makes up songs?! Am I the only one who realizes the messages that music and other forms of media are portraying to the moldable minds of the youth today?! Is anyone else as disgusted as I am?! As a matter of fact, I don't even CARE if no one else is as disgusted, displeased, and disheartened as I am. What makes it so sad to me is that there are so many young children today who try SO hard to be "cool" or "fit in", who follow the crowd, no matter what, and music like this is what the "in crowd" listens to. What also bothers me is that there are females who wine up their body to music, not realizing that the music is only degrading them. They say, "Oh, that's my song!" WHY?! WHY WOULD IT BE YOUR SONG?! Do you NOT hear what he is saying about you? He is calling you a bitch, a whore, a slut, easy, and you do not give him a reason NOT to because you barely have clothes on, clothes which cover your nipples and wrap around your bottom and you do what he wants, even if what he wants is for you to lower your standards, values, and morals! It hurts me, so much. I don't know why I am so compassionate when it comes to these things, but I am. It is not even a matter of me being spiritual either, even though my spirituality does have an account in these issues/matters. Rather, it is just a matter of what is decent and what is not.
Anyhow, this is the state of the world. I may not be able to change the world or save it, but I know that I can make a difference in the lives of the individuals around me. I can show them some of the good that is still left here and just be a positive example. That's probably all I can do, for now at least.
