Seemingly stupid question... why would the Stadol have affected your nursing, just out of curiousity? If I remember right, this type of pain relief drug acts on parts of the brain to relieve pain, so how does this affect nursing?

Crosses the placenta. Babies that were born after their mothers have used any kind of drugs while laboring are often sleepier, and have much more trouble nursing.
