26th Birthday!
Salut Madames et Monsieurs!
I'm 26 now! Yay!
May 3rd itself was kind of quiet until cell phone service came back and I was flooded with 11 messages! (We've had service in guidimouni about once every 4 days. such BS!) So i was mad pleased that my Team Z hommies texted me. Dad called too and mom texted! Then Henry and Emily, the new volunteers who live less than 1 kilometer from me, came to my house and cooked me dinner! sweet!
Then on Sunday Noah, Robi, Emily and Henry all hung out for market day. Henry and Emily made me a pictogram card saying Bon Anniversaire. Robin and Noah made me a card including Noah's litte poem about how he's going to throw me into the pool at the up coming prom, but he's happy about me being the G Side mom. Robins friend in the village also made me a card! Robin got me an old Marie Therese silver coin that used to be used for trade but is now worn as necklaces. Serious Hausa bling!
We made dinner at my house and drank lots of coke and ate lots of brownies! Noah, Rabi and I stayed up late shooting the shit as we always do and it felt good to be with the people i consider family here.
