Life is funny
So I spent most of yesterday afternoon and evening (as well as this morning and afternoon) pretty bitter. I had applied for a fellowship program through my grad school and was supposed to find out if I had been nominated yesterday. So I'm waiting by the email all day. Around 3 I see a friend post on facebook she was nominated and included something to the effect of, "it's that special, I'm a monkey who can write." Of course, i hadn't received an email and it wasn't in my spam filter. So not only no nomination for me, but I wasn't even a monkey who could write.
I assumed I'd get a rejection letter at least and got super pissed off that the jerks couldn't even let me get closure by not rejecting me in writing. So this morning I write an email to the head of the program basically confirming that no email = no nomination.
Then this evening I get an email back that says they don't know why I didn't get an email, but I'm totally nominated.
Woo hoo!
Yesterday might have been a wash, but today's feeling pretty awesome. Also, I found out that I probably will be able to go to the big conference I want to go to in Mexico this December (as in, it's cool with my prof she just needs to find out how many passes we'll be able to receive). So just waiting back on the Europe conference.
Aside from the Stats test next week, I actually feel like I'm finally getting the hang of this grad school thing :D
Also, GLEE tonight! So excited!
