I've just read a small article in the December edition of the GYO magazine entitled “avoiding out of date seeds” and although there was plenty to say about how seeds deteriorate quickly and that the usual shelf life put on packets of seeds is 2 years, there was nothing in the article telling you how to avoid this ( Read more... )

I couldn’t believe it when I read an article somewhere on line that Columbine or Aquilegia seeds can take approximately 35 days to germinate without sufficient light. Mine have taken six weeks, sown back in February in seed trays and on a sunny window sill I thought I must have had a bad batch until this morning when at last, I saw a hint of green ( Read more... )
