Ratings
Cover: 6/10
Almost the same as the previous book, except it isn't the same girl. That bugs me, it should be the same girl. Still have a bit of a nun look going on as well.
Characters: 10/10
The characters get a little bit more in depth, but not by much. Instead, they steadily act how they are first portrayed. This makes it enjoyable, as everything seems plausible and realistic. The new characters that are introduced are then given more depth, and it brings more depth to the entire story.
Story: 10/10
Deep, detailed, original, and very well written. The conspiracy story isn't a plot that is written enough. And Pierce writes it very well. The culture of the Raka as well is very well detailed and original.
Ending: 8/10
On the Conspiracy note, it ends well. On the personal note with Aly, it ends without any interest. Annoyed that she gets pregnant, it's as if once the conspiracy problem is over, she resorts back into just a woman.
Overall: 10/10
Great plot, settings, characters, and twists. You fall in love with the way Aly thinks, and how she grows up throughout the book.
