Pirates of the Caribbean

Oh my god! I saw POTC: DMC last night, and it was brilliant! I took the advice from the Scream triology's dialogue (and personal experience) that sequels suck, (though, you can't call this a "sequel", more of the second part), this was even better than the first. I didn't expect this to suck, because the first was so enjoyable and Johnny's portrayal of Jack isn't disappointing (rather entertaining). The characters were the same, none of them had changed dramatically, maybe except for Elizabeth and Governor Swann, but the plot answered some questions that I had (like, would Jack screw them over, and did Will and Elizabeth live happily ever after), but it also left some questions that the third installment would have to answer.

I loved - LOVED - the Elizabeth-and-Jack moments. I'm a shipper of them, and I loved the whole compass deal. It pointed to the thing they wanted most. Elizabeth pulled off a great male-sailor on the first ship she went on in escape from the lord-of-shortness (although I was confused about the Lord man and Governor Swann). I knew, when Jack was abandoning the Black Pearl, that the compass was not pointing to the ship, but the person on the ship. ELIZABETH!

I almost died when the Jack and Elizabeth kiss happened. Poor Will though, but I wasn't happy when the camera went from the start-of-the-kiss to Will's 'I'm-now-pissed-at-you-Jack-Sparrow' look, but the kiss was steamy and the aftermath of it was too. Elizabeth is quite the pirate, Jack can definitely see that.

THE DIRT! Oh my god! I loved the dirt and the rum. Jack definitely doesn't trust Elizabeth when rum is around, but Will screwed over the rum and burnt it (with the help of Jack firing the gun - did anyone else see Elizabeth clinging to Jack's leg?), but I loved the dirt.

Norrington's appearance shocked me. I thought he'd be a respected something-or-rather with a wig, but he wasn't. He screwed them over, and he's still devastatingly in love with our Lizzie. Oh my god! It was SO cute when Jack called her 'Lizzie' *squee*! But Norrington and the heart - I thought Jack had it in his shirt - but then I realised that Jack must've tucked the compass in his shirt, and Norrington must've quickly snuck the heart from the jar of dirt into his pocket or something when everyone was fighting on the beach.

This was hilarious! Elizabeth - poor girl - thought that fainting would get their attention. Nup. Poor girl, as I said before. The beach scene was hilarious, and the one where Will finally encounters Chief Jack.

Anyway, I'm probably recalling all bits of the movie, but Ragetti and Pintel are back, and I personally don't understand how the monkey isn't dead (after all the times Jack has shot the nasty bugger), but Barbossa being back - how the hell did he survive being stabbed and having the curse taken off of him? I had expected AnaMaria back, but I hope she's back for some slapping in the third.

It was the best! I was NOT disappointed, I didn't want to blink just in case I missed it. I can not wait until the third! ;)

Oh yes, just like I had feared, there was a scene (in both first and second movies) after the credits. I've read somewhere that in the first installment there is a scene about the monkey and why it is still alive after being shot several times by Jack, and in this film there was a scene about the dog being the new chief of the people.
