I was watching BBC food with my sister this afternoon and giggling madly

A chef on Taste , whose name I missed as we missed the beginning of the program, was talking about South African cuisine and  she had both me and my sister highly confused.

She was cooking a dish she called 'South African fruit curry' which she held up as a popular South African dish. In thirty years of living in South Africa I have never even heard of this dish.

She went on to say that `South African cuisine` was quite meaty, which is true, and made use of lots of fennel, which is not.

Another reason to take watch you watch on T.V with a pinch of salt.
