So as the computer was circling the drain, I was backing stuff up onto an external hard drive. It was going piecemeal, because the computer couldn't handle doing all of it at once. Not a big deal. No, the problem was that it further hung up on a certain chunk, which I then skipped, to come back and deal with later. I forgot to go back and deal with it. And now the hard drive is dead, and it took my dissertation with it.
All of my notes, everything I wrote, it's all gone. I've still got pictures and most of the journal articles, but all of my text, and all of the text I was drawing my writeups from has >poof
