What Makes Music "Country?"
This question is inspired by seeing the "new" Bon Jovi on Saturday Night Live. You can't argue about the country feel of the song (even if you were to take away the fiddle player), but we couldn't put our fingers on exactly what made it feel that way. There wasn't a slide guitar or a significant twang anywhere, but it could have just as easily been instead of Bon Jovi (on whose musical value this house is divided--and I can bet you know who is on which side ).
