I installed google earth today on a whim. A friend of mine had mentioned it was pretty cool. After playing with it for a while now I have to say that "cool" is a vast understatement. I actually saw my parent's cars in the driveway of their house and the long, morning shadows in California (It was 7pm for me, 11am for you lot). If my mom had gone out and stood on the lawn, I would have been able to see her. I took a tour of Isla Vista and put marks on FT, my old house on Trigo and the El Greco place. The technology isn't perfect though. Canterbury is still only a fuzzy blob. If you could see my flat as well as I can see the houses in Isla Vista, I would certainly find a way to write a message on the roof of this building for all my friends to see. Something like "Technology is amazing...although a little creepy". Because it is, kinda creepy I mean. Couldn't help feeling like a sniper, really. Zooming around the towns I know in California and spying on my friends' homes (Whose car is in the driveway NOW?). Weird, yes. But utterly addicting nonetheless.
Be careful what you do...I am WATCHING....every once and a while.
Cheers. ;)
