My beta's husband just left her for a guy, so my happy little AU Utopian Ranch Fic got tossed out the window. Kinda bad timing. In the current chapter, Jack and Ennis have just eloped to Idaho, leaving behind letters explaining the situation. I'll pick up the story again when the beta gets over her heartbreak. Maybe she'll have some real-life suggestions for the dialog. A good beta should be willing to bleed for the story just like a good author does, don't you think? In the meantime, would anybody be interested in a sad AU? Something where Ennis suffers from impotence and Jack has an unfortunate encounter with a posthole digger? I think my beta would be willing to review such a story.
