(no subject)
So, a few things have happened in the past three months. I’ve moved away from Blacksburg to Creedmoor, NC. This had the benefit of pulling me out of the rut I’ve been stuck in since the divorce. However it also means I have not finished my masters degree. I still need to write my thesis. So I’ve traded isolation and misery for my degree, at least temporarily. I know a lot of people think I should have stuck things out in Blacksburg and finished up before moving, but frankly they have no idea what I’ve been going through. I was extremely unhappy in Blacksburg, enough that I had no hope of finishing my work there.
I like Creedmoor. Specifically I like being near Paul and Mara, two of my friends here. They’ve taken me in like a new addition to the family. I spend more time with them than I do alone. We’re always doing something, whether it’s running or paddling or eating dinner or playing on the internet together. I’m hoping to do swing dancing with them soon.
I really like my new apartment. It’s small but big enough for me and Tobey. I still haven’t finished unpacking yet. It still smells new.
I am a LOT happier now. I finally stopped having nightmares about Mel. I’m looking for a job and thinking about my future. I contacted Mel’s lawyer last week and am hoping to have the divorce finalized soon.
