cruel, cruel fate (or, you know, whatever)

May 20, 2006 14:29

It figures that only a few hours after I'd told McCoy I didn't need a security detail and that I wasn't in danger of being threatened, I get woken from sleep for a 4am death threat phone call. Yeah, that was fun.

So there I was at 4am, tired and bitchy, arguing with Jack McCoy (who was also tired and bitchy) about a security detail. In the end, he won out, because, well, he's Jack McCoy and he usually does. Despite the fact that he hasn't been my boss for at least eight years, he still does that. Annoying as hell. But he was, in fact, there when I needed to freak out at someone at 4am after getting a death threat, so I guess that says something as well.

Mr. Shore:

In case you've not been informed by Det. Barr herself, I thought I would let you know--on the advice of a colleague, I am lifting the restriction on the interaction between yourself and Det. Barr. Since she is no longer of any importance to the trial, there is no harm in it.

In addition, I apologize if taking you home after your injury was improper. I assure you, I meant no impropriety.
