This trial has barely begun and already, my head is aching.

Death threats to the counselors.
Police details for them as well.

I suppose I should have one myself, for safety's sake, but I loathe the idea of uniforms following me around. Besides, Katelyn is coming down for a few days next week and I really don't want her to freak out.

And did I mention that the defense attorney for the case I'm presiding over stayed the night at my house? Never "like that" of course. The picture of propriety I believe Jack McCoy once called me. Which is far too ironic for it to have come from him, but it did.

Yes, Alan Shore stayed at my home, because his head injury required him to have supervision, and he knows no one else in the City. It was odd, having someone else here. Katelyn spent her high school years in boarding school, or with her father. He has a hold on her like I don't understand. She always was a daddy's girl. So other than holidays, my brownstone has mostly been solely occupied. It was...odd...but...nice. I don't know what else to say about it.
